Cheryl Cole admits 'mistakes'

Cheryl Cole admits mistakes

Cheryl Cole admits she "makes mistakes" and "bad choices" just like everybody else.

The 'Fight for This Love' singer - who recently separated from husband Ashley Cole after it was alleged he cheated on her with several different women - loves being an inspiration to other women but is adamant she often has regrets about her own life.

The 26-year-old beauty - who was found guilty of assaulting a nightclub toilet attendant in 2003 - said: "I'm still a human being, so obviously there's going to be times when I make mistakes or make a bad choice or a bad outfit - whatever the case may be. But I'm hoping that is also inspirational to other women, it's just one of those things."

Cheryl was recently voted the Most Inspiration Woman of the Decade, beating the likes of Dame Helen Mirren, Oprah Winfrey and Britain's Queen Elizabeth.

On learning about the honor, Cheryl told BBC Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton: "I'm stuck for words. Do you know what, there's not a better feeling actually that you can have than being an inspiration to someone else, whether it's through a song, or something you say or what you wear. I just love the feeling of inspiring other women."

Jessica Simpson targeted by PETA

Jessica Simpson targeted by PETA

Jessica Simpson has been targeted by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) for wearing snakeskin.

The singer-and-actress – who was recently photographed wearing a bag, jacket and shoes all made from animal skin – has been sent a video by the animal rights group urging her to change her ways and stop wearing outfits made from lizards, alligators and snakes.

In the video, actor Joaquin Phoenix says: "Did you know that mother snakes keep their eggs warm by wrapping their bodies around the eggs and then shivering to generate heat? Exotic animals are mostly unknown to us, and so is what they suffer before being turned into belts and bags?"

The campaign clip has also been sent to stars including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Victoria Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker and Paris Hilton.

This is not the first time PETA has attacked Jessica for her treatment of animals.

The American star recently said she was thinking of getting a pet pig to replace her dog Daisy, who was snatched by a coyote last year, and questioned whether she would have to give up eating pork.

In response, PETA said: 'Pigs, who are smarter than dogs and every bit as sensitive to pain and stress, don't belong in Jessica's stomach or carted around as her latest accessory."

U2 guitarist The Edge fighting protesters in US

U2 guitarist The Edge fighting protesters in US

U2 guitarist The Edge is fighting protesters in California who want to stop him building a five-home development.

The 47-year-old musician – real name David Evans - insists his plans to build on 156 acres of land which he purchased for £6.4 million, will not be intrusive to the scenery of the exclusive Sierra Canyon district of Malibu and thinks he will eventually win over local residents who are currently opposed to his ideas.

He said: 'I believe most of the local opposition is softening as I communicate my intentions of how these homes will collectively compliment the landscape.

'There is a small group of locals who are very vocal and simply want to stop all development of any kind.'

Malibu Mayor Pro Tem Jefferson Wagner insisted the development would be out of character for the area.

He said: 'This is not what Malibu is about. These kind of places are ego run riot.'

The 'Sweetest Thing’ rocker will now put his case to the California Coastal Commission in June, where officials will decide if his plans can go ahead.

The Edge and his U2 bandmates – Bono, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. – are well known for campaigning on environmental issues, but have come under criticism in the past for their lavish, expensive outdoor stage shows.

Last year, they infuriated locals in Dublin, Ireland, with excessive sound levels during their shows at the city’s Croke Park stadium.

An investigation found the group played over the 75 decibel level set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) a total of 12 times during the three concerts, but tour promoters were fined just £33,125.

However, some local residents blasted the "paltry" penalty.

Pat Gates, chairperson of the Croke Park Area Residents' Alliance, said: "It is a paltry penalty, it really isn't a disincentive.

"They would write that off in terms of planning for such things. Any fines that do accrue to the city council should be invested back into the local community, as they were the ones that put up with it."

50 Cent talks sex with Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Rihanna

50 Cent wants to have unprotected sex with Beyonce Knowles, Lady Gaga and Rihanna.

The 'Candy Shop’ rapper has a crush on all three singers and would love to settle down and have children with the stars.

He said: 'I would kiss Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Rihanna. I would marry Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Rihanna in Africa, I’d have 3 wives! And I would avoid wearing condoms and have really big families.'

While he is a big admirer of the pop beauties, 50 is furious about Beyonce and Gaga’s video for their single 'Telephone’ as he believes it highlights sexism against men in the music industry.

The hip-hop star – real name Curtis Jackson – told MTV News: 'I think the video is hot. But there’s a shot in the video in the diner that’s just breasts. And it looks great, but if I shot the same shot in my music video, they would make me edit that immediately.

'Even if I had someone who was recognisable female talent that was part of the project, they wouldn’t allow that to go. They would think it was you taking advantage of a girl for marketing purposes or whatever.

'It’s their personal perception of your intentions of how you utilise it. Like 'It’s Britney b***h’ nobody has a problem with that. But if I say, 'It’s 50 b***h,’ everyone’s like, 'Oh my god! You got to edit that.’ '

The 26-year-old pop star was given the honour for both her 'beauty' and 'success' – with 29 per cent of her fans praising her looks and 51 per cent in awe of her career.

A survey taken out on the cosmetic treatment review website, www.goodsurgeonguide.co.uk asked over 1,100 British women their views on a number of the world’s biggest celebrities.

Christiana Clogg, owner of The Good Surgeon Guide, said: 'It is great that the results show these women as inspirational for a variety of reasons. Success is something that most women aspire to have, not necessarily success in the public eye, but success on a personal level.'

The survey also asked the same group of females about who has made the least impression on them over the past 10 years.

Model-turned-body builder Jodie Marsh has topped this list, followed by a number of British stars, including Tara Palmer Tomkinson, reality TV stars Chantelle Houghton and Kerry Katona, Rebecca Loos – who claimed to have had an affair with soccer star David Beckham - and actress Helen Flanagan.

One fellow reveller said: "Avril and Brody were cosying up in a banquette. The two were dancing, singing, drinking and having a blast.

"They definitely looked extremely friendly."

Avril and Brody were first linked together last month and friends say they have been enjoying 'low-key' dates.

One said: "They're hooking up but they're keeping it low-key.

"You can tell they're into each other and both like to have a good time. They're cute together."

Since splitting from Deryck - who she was married to for three years - Avril, 25, has been romantically linked with actor Wilmer Valderrama and oil heir Brandon Davis, but pals insisted she was just friends with both men.

Simon Cowell backs animal charity after dog licking incident

Simon Cowell backs animal charity after dog licking incident

Simon Cowell claims the worst day of his life was only improved when his dog licked his face.

The music mogul loves animals so much he is now throwing his considerable weight behind a new campaign by the World Society for Protection of Animals charity, called 'Animals Matter to Me’.

Speaking about his dark day, Simon said: 'Waiting up for me was my pet dog, and he jumped up, licked my face, was happy to see me and everything was happy again.

'The World Society for Protection of Animals struck a chord with me, as it’s a global charity that recognises the needs of animals around the world.'

Although he is backing the campaign, Simon doesn’t presently own any pets, because his work as a judge on shows such as 'The X Factor’ and 'Britain’s Got Talent’ in the UK and 'American Idol’ mean he doesn’t have the time to care for them properly.

He added: 'When I was growing up, we had pets, and I was taught early on that you have to respect animals. I don’t have pets now, simply because I travel too much to take on the responsibility. But owning pets has had an immensely positive impact on my life and I think animals deserve our protection.'

The multi-millionaire star has previously given money to several animal charities, secretly donating $165,000-a-year to an animal shelter run by 'Exorcist' actress Linda Blair in California.

He also donated most of the 179 mirrors he received for his 50th birthday last year to be auctioned to raise money for the Battersea Dogs Home in London.

Heidi Klum and Seal set unusual dress code for wedding renewal

Heidi Klum and Seal set unusual dress code for wedding renewal

Heidi Klum and Seal have asked guests to dress as brides and grooms for the forthcoming renewal of their wedding vows.

The couple – who tied the knot in May 2005 – throw an annual party to reaffirm their commitment to one another and always ask partygoers to come in themed fancy dress, this year they want them to be 'married’ as well.

Heidi told E! News: "It's going to be all brides and all grooms. All of the women will be brides and all of the men will be grooms.

"Just one day, I woke up and I was like, 'Oh, I know what I am going to do this year.’ I like to have fun and I like to make it fun for my family and friends."

Last year, Heidi and Seal – who raise four children together, daughters Leni, five, and four-month-old Lou, and sons Henry, four, and three-year-old Johan – celebrated with a 'white trash’ themed ceremony.

The 36-year-old supermodel had her hair braded into cornrows and donned a tight, nylon tracksuit, while her Seal, 47, sported a mullet, with the occasion presided over by an Elvis Presley impersonator.

The couple were joined by around 75 friends, including actress Debra Messing and actor Matthew Perry, who wore a variety of casual items, including jean shorts, leather jackets and leopard-print patterned tops.

After the ceremony, guests sipped Mexican beer and ate food from the country, while partying on the patio to 60s music.

Explaining why the couple renew their vows annually, Seal previously said: "We love it. It's great saying your vows again. You remember who it was you fell in love with. It's also a good excuse to have a big party, and we have a different theme every year."

New York Dolls' Sylvain Sylvain and Dead Boys' Cheetah Chrome collaborate

New York Dolls Sylvain Sylvain and Dead Boys Cheetah Chrome collaborate

Smog Veil Records recently announced the debut recording – and musical collaboration – of two of punk rocks’ most prolific icons: flamboyant guitarist Sylvain Sylvain of the legendary 'New York Dolls’ and Cheetah Chrome (of proto punk-rock band 'Rocket From The Tombs’ as well as the later 'Dead Boys’) have merged into a new super-group called Batusis. Seeing how Sylvain Sylvain and Cheetah have been friends for long, it was only a question of time before a creative collaboration came to fruition.

By the way, the Batusi was a go-go dance invented for the 60’s TV-series 'Batman’ and is a pun on the then popular dance called Watusi (feel free to look up on Wikipedia as to how the Batusi is performed). Back to the music and the project.

Having played around with possible names for the new formation, Sylvain performed his own take on the Batusi while Cheetah cracked his head over how to baptise the group. After Syl had explained his rather strange dance moves, Cheetah decided that it would be the perfect name for their joint project and Batusis was born.

Since the musical roots of both musicians are steeped in rock 'n’ roll, it comes as little surprise that this is what Batusis sounds like, with a dash of garage-glam thrown in for good measure.

The dynamic duo (I’m talking Sylvain and Cheetah, not Batman and Robin) will premiere the highly anticipated Batusis project at America’s top music gathering SXSW in Austin, Texas, on March 18th. This will be followed by a nationwide UK tour during the first two weeks in May, which in turn will coincide with the vinyl as well as the digital download release of the self-titled 4-track EP on May 4th (both in the UK and in the US).
The 4-track EP also features Enzo Penizzotto on bass and Thommy Price on drums – the driving rhythm section for none other than Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. In addition, the album has been produced by Ken Koomer (Emmylou Harris, Steve Earl), while sound-engineer Charlie Brocco (George Harrison, Fleetwood Mac) contributed to the overall excellence.

The debut recordings will be released on collectable multi-coloured vinyl, with eco-friendly recycled content jacket and full-colour two-sided insert, and also on digital download. Phew, I hope you made a note of it, folks!

The EP will be reviewed on Music-News nearer the time. Meanwhile, tune in again at the same Batusis time on the same Batusis channel. What am I saying, just check them out on: www.myspace.com/batusis

Girls Aloud keep their shoes on with elastic bands.

The 'No Good Advice’ hitmakers – Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle – worry about losing their footwear when performing tricky dance routines on stage, so have learned to secure them to prevent accidents.

Kimberley revealed: 'My best kept fashion secret is that when Girls Aloud are on tour we have see-through elastic bands that wrap around our feet so that our shoes don’t fall off while dancing.'

Kimberley’s favourite fashion purchases are shoes and she is particularly pleased that she and her bandmate Nicola take the same size as they can swap.

She added: 'Nicola has the most interesting and extravagant wardrobe. She also has a really good shoe collection. We’re both a size five, so I know they’d all fit me.'

The Messengers will play the famed 100 Club, on the afternoon of April 11, 2010. Tickets for the event are still available via ultravox.org.uk or at wegottickets.com.

In other news, the long awaited 2009 live album Ultravox Live at the Roundhouse, will get a UK release on April 5, 2010 on EMI in two formats: a DVD + 2CD Special Edition containing the full 18 track live performance in both audio and video, plus a 39 minute 'Building Eden' reformation documentary, and a 13 track highlights CD (audio only). To celebrate the release, Townsend Records are giving away a limited amount of exclusive A4 'Return to Eden' Art prints.

Vienna for Number one campaign aims to see Ultravox finally get to number one with 'Vienna' on the eve of their UK tour, is gaining momentum, almost thirty years on from the time it was held off the top slot by both John Lennon and Joe Dolce.

Interestingly, Joe Dolce himself has launched a rival campaign in a bid to repeat history. The Facebook group urges fans to purchase and download the Vienna single from any legal UK based source such as Amazon or Itunes.

Downloads will be from Sunday, March 28 to Saturday, April 3 only. Overseas fans can join in by going to nokiamusic.co.uk - this is how Rage Against the Machine Fans outside the UK made their purchases count towards the UK chart.

The campaign Youtube channel , including STV and BBC Radio coverage can be viewed at youtube.com/viennacampaign. Join the Facebook campaign page or sign up to myspace.com/officialviennacampaign

Midge Ure's autobiography 'If I Was' is now being re-released on August 31st 2010 in the UK, apparently with additional new chapter. It's been reported that that the additional chapter may cover Ultravox's reformation and the Return to Eden tour. And don't overlook Ultravox's keyboardist/violinist released his ninth solo album in Autumn 2009 entitled 'Refine.' Visit billycurrie.com for more info.

Susan Boyle thief to face court

Susan Boyle thief to face court

A teenager who allegedly stole money from Susan Boyle’s home is to face court.

The break-in happened at the Scottish singer’s home in West Lothian, Scotland, on January 26 and local police have now confirmed the suspect is to face trial.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: 'A 16-year-old youth has been arrested and charged in connection with a theft that happened at a property in Blackburn.'

Susan was left badly shaken by the incident and her representatives have issued a statement thanking "local police for their help and support'.

On the night the break-in took place, the 'Wild Horses’ singer had returned home after a day in the recording studio to lay down vocals for Simon Cowell's Helping Haiti charity single 'Everybody Hurts’ to discover the intruder.

After being spotted on the stairs, the teenager turned and ran past the scared music star.

A source said at the time: "Susan got home to find an intruder halfway up her stairs. She was with another female, who was dropping her off, it is just as well she was.'

After the incident Susan's eldest brother John insisted she needed round-the-clock care and security because of her global fame.

He said: "She needs 24-hour care. She needs to be looked after."

Sharon Osbourne gives Simon Cowell her blessing

Sharon Osbourne thinks Simon Cowell and his fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy are 'perfect' for each other.

The TV star – who is a judge on Simon’s show 'America’s Got Talent’ and was previously on the judging panel of his UK programme 'The X Factor’ – has met Mezghan and thinks Simon has found his 'Miss Right’.

She said: 'I know her, she’s an extremely classy and elegant woman. I think they’re a perfect couple and they bring out the best in each other.'

Sharon, 57, insists she has always been on good terms with Simon, despite her exit from 'The X Factor’ in 2008, but doesn’t think she would ever make a return to the pop search show.

She said: 'Simon likes to be around beautiful young women. That’s not me and I’m too much of a loose cannon. He doesn’t want me telling him there’s something wrong with his baby. Not that there is, but he never knows what’s coming out of my mouth. He likes to know what’s coming next.'

Jennifer Lopez puts her family first

Jennifer Lopez is putting her home life before her career for the first time.

The actress-and-singer - who has two-year-old twins Max and Emme with husband Marc Anthony has enjoyed spending time away from the spotlight and thinks it has helped her realise what's important to her.

She said: "I think you have to know what is most important to you. And I think you have to realise that as much as you put into work, you have to put into your relationship and your children - but more so. That is how you balance it.

"For me, my family is the most important thing and everything else comes after that. It is hard to do everything, but you just have to. You have to make that effort. I have put so much time into my career in the past, so much time trying to get ahead and all that. But you have to do as much and then more for your home life too."

The 40-year-old beauty who is set to release a new album in the summer and stars in the romantic comedy 'The Back-Up Plan' admits she is still on a "learning curve" as a mother.

She said: "I try to spend all my free time with Marc and the babies. It's all a learning curve really. The last year has been an amazing time for us, me and Marc. I just wish I could be in two places at once. I would rather be at home now with my babies if I could be."

Arcade Fire to headline Oxegen

Arcade Fire to headline Oxegen

Arcade Fire return this summer to play their first European live dates since 2007 including a headline slot at OXEGEN.

Following the release of their Grammy nominated albums Funeral and Neon Bible, Arcade Fire have toured Europe extensively. The band and their releases topped 'Best of Decade' polls around the world – with Funeral charting at Number 6 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Best Albums of The Decade.

2007 saw the band play other major international music festivals including, Coachella, Glastonbury, Reading and Rock en Seine, and a US tour with LCD Soundsystem which culminated in a 30,000 capacity show on Randall’s Island in New York.

'the Arcade Fire produce a sound so explosive you fear the crackling speakers might rupture,' The Guardian 2007.

Arcade Fire are renowned for their breathtaking live performances and the last time they were in Ireland, their two shows at the Phoenix Park sold out 20,000 tickets in a matter of minutes. It’s a performance that promises to be unmissable!

Also announced today is Fatboy Slim. A true icon of dance music, Fatboy Slim returns to Ireland following his sold out performance at Marlay Park last summer. He’s won two Brit Awards as a solo artist and in 2007 received an Ivor Novello Award for 'outstanding contribution to British music’. A pioneer of the big beat sound, Fatboy Slim’s 1998 album You’ve Come A Long Way Baby is a classic of the genre and features the massive tunes 'The Rockafeller Skank’, 'Right Here, Right Now’ and 'Praise You’. Most recently, he’s collaborated with David Byrne on concept album 'Here Lies Love’ which features Santigold and Martha Wainwright and is released in April.

Winner of Best Overseas Festival 2009 at the UK Festival Awards, OXEGEN returns to Punchestown Racecourse from Thursday 8th–Sunday 11th July and the line-up is already shaping up to be one of our strongest and most diverse ever!

Just like previous years, we asked you to tell us who you most wanted to see and we’ve brought together a bill full of your favourite artists.

Joss Stone turned off by bad breath

Joss Stone turned off by bad breath

Joss Stone says bad breath is her biggest turn-off in a man.

The 22-year-old singer - who is currently single - would never date a guy with halitosis and expects any potential suitors to have minty fresh mouths.

Joss - who previously dated Beau Dozier - said: "There's nothing worse than bad breath. I've snogged people with bad breath who smelt of fags and beer and it made me feel sick."

Although the pop star expects her men to be super-clean, she admits her hair isn't always freshly shampooed.

She added: "I once went a week without washing my hair and I did it deliberately because I wanted the natural oils to mend my hair. It didn't smell, surprisingly, and no one commented on it. They probably thought, 'Oh it's just Joss.' "

Joss has previously admitted she finds it hard to find a man because she is a "free spirit".

The UK soul singer said: "We love for a man to be protective over us, we love for a man to want and have a little tiny bit of jealousy.

"So you go for those guys, but when you want to be the free spirit that you are and just disappear or go on a road trip for two days or to go on tour or whatever that is, then you run into problems because you've chosen a man that's a little bit protective and possessive and jealous."

Even then it was obvious Linkous had problems. A year later he overdosed in a London hotel.

Tangerine Dream back for Royal Albert Hall date

Tangerine Dream back for Royal Albert Hall date

Legendary electronic music pioneers Tangerine Dream hope that Kasabian aren’t sharing their hotel on the night of their 40th Anniversary concert at the Royal Albert Hall – and it’s not because of the 2010 Brit Award winner’s late-night antics!

Tom Meighan from Kasabian uses the name of Tangerine Dream’s founder member Edgar Froese when checking in - which could lead some serious confusion if they are both staying in the same hotel! It’s no coincidence either; Tom regularly cites Edgar’s work as a major influence on his band.

Luckily, the gig to mark 40 years since Tangerine Dream’s debut album is a one-off show, so the confusion will be short lived!

Tangerine Dream perform at Royal Albert Hall on 1st April, marking 2 anniversary milestones for the Krautrock pioneers; they first performed at the Royal Albert Hall exactly 35 years ago to the day, and it is exactly 40 years since the release of their debut album, the genre defining Electronic Meditation.

Founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese, Tangerine Dream's early 'Pink Years' albums had a pivotal role in the development of Krautrock.

They are described by The New York Times as 'The world's leading synth band"

Tangerine Dream have released over 140 studio and live recordings, including the genre-defining 1973 album Atem (John Peel’s album of the year).

Their repertoire also includes over 20 film soundtracks including Legend, Risky Business, and the cult classic adaptation of Stephen King’s Firestarter.

Tangerine Dream have been nominated for seven Grammy awards.

Lady GaGa charges double for tickets

LADY GAGA has announced three more UK dates of her Monster Ball tour - but some tickets have almost doubled in price.

Tickets for the tour, which kicked off in Manchester last month, cost between £27.50 and £35.

But the extra dates, which have been organised by a different promoter, are priced between £50 and £75.

Two dates on the current tour, in Sheffield and Nottingham, were postponed earlier this week and will now form part of the star's second outing.

The Live Nation website said the tour had been extended due to "overwhelming response". Tickets go on sale on 12 March.

The Brit-Award winner, known for hits such Paparazzi and Just Dance, will play Birmingham, London and Manchester in May and June - in the same venues she has already visited on the current leg of the tour.

Robbie Williams was close to death and didn't care

Robbie Williams was close to death and didnt care

Robbie Williams was "dying" three years ago.

The 'Bodies' singer admits his spiral into addiction had got so bad that he was close to death in 2007 - and didn't care about it.

He said: "I was not in a good place. I was dying. I got to a point where I really, genuinely didn't care.

"I'd just got fat and depressed before. Then this one was like, you might die, now. Cool!"

Robbie, 36, claims his addiction to drugs began in 1993, when he first took cocaine given to him by an unnamed 80s pop star.

He said: "I'd already tried speed, ecstasy and acid but never cocaine. I think it was a symptom of a problem personally for me, for my own make-up. And also professionally for me where I was, with the people that I was with
and how we were being looked after."

However since a trip to rehab in 2007 Robbie - who is engaged to actress Ayda Field - has been getting his life back on track, although he admits he did pile on the pounds last year because his overuse of the drug cannabis, known as weed, made him constantly hungry.

He told Radio Times magazine: "Did you see me last year? Have a look at last year. Year of the munchie, 2009. Weed, it's such a lovely drug. But it doesn't mix well with me - at all. It doesn't take much to trigger- I mean, I'll get psychosis from a cup of tea! Seriously. The caffeine in that is enough!"

Jeff Beck denies being Spinal Tap inspiration

It has been widely written over the years that the Nigel Tufnel character in the rock and roll spoof Spinal Tap was based on Jeff Beck. Jeff says it is not him.

'I think the hair was but it ends there,' he tells Undercover. 'I knew that Christopher Guest had been watching me but Nigel is based on different characters from Glam Rock. Ironically, I was the only one who wasn’t Glam Rock. I loved every minute of that movie'.

He first saw the 1984 movie when he was playing at the cinemas years ago. 'I heard it on recommendation,' he says. 'I was watching it at a cinema in Westwood and I was laughing so loud people were telling me to shut-up. It was the funniest thing. They couldn’t see the funny side of it'.

Jimi Hendrix has more unreleased material to come

Jimi Hendrix has more unreleased material to come

The new Jimi Hendrix album `Valleys of Neptune` will not be the last unreleased music we hear from the legendary guitarist who died 40-years ago this year.

'We probably have about 14 more project to go over the next 10 years,' his sister Janie Hendrix tells Undercover News. 'It will be a combination of concert footage, studio, live CDs and DVDs.

Janie now runs the family business Experience Hendrix LLC and manages the Jimi Hendrix catalogue. She says he was forever performing and recording 'He performed a lot,' she says. 'He was paid well his performances and a lot of it was filmed or recorded. We also mix concert footage with documentary footage and we have a lot of that in the can as well'.

The tracks from new album 'Valleys of Neptune have a common thread. ’The common thread outside of Mr Bad Luck was about the time period,' she says. 'In 1969, Jimi had finished 'Electric Ladyland’ and he was working on this new sound. He was telling us about this new music, this new sound that he wanted people to hear. He thought he could really change music. It was similar to what we did in 1997 when we put out 'First Rays of the New Rising Sun’. Once again, that was the same time period that 'Valleys of Neptune’ was from'.

Jimi Hendrix was only around for four years but left an enormous catalogue. 'The vault is full of songs in different versions,' she says. 'He was such a perfectionist and he would hear things a different way. He never really played the same song the same way twice. That's what we have. Over 110 songs he wrote and accomplished a lot in four years'.

Efterklang 4AD session now online

Efterklang 4AD session now online

Here - www.4ad.com/sessions

Following last year's inaugural 4AD Session with Tune-Yards, the next installment is now airing online and comes courtesy of recent 4AD singings, Efterklang.

Filmed in the band's home city of Copenhagen, this second session takes place in the beautiful surroundings of VEGA and gives most fans a first glance of the band performing new material taken from their recent Magic Chairs album live. In a four-song set, they perform 'I Was Playing Drums', 'Alike', 'Me Me Me The Brick House' and 'Modern Drift'.

As a live entity, the core band of Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen, Thomas Husmer and Rasmus Stolberg are joined by Heather Broderick, Peter Broderick and Frederik Teige.

"The session gives you Efterklang as we would perform live on a stage, not Efterklang performing live with an acoustic guitar and two spoons (although we also like that format)." Efterklang talking about the session.

The band’s new album, Magic Chairs, is out now on 4AD and the band are scheduled to play live shows in the US and Europe shortly.

The 4AD Sessions are a dedicated home for exclusive live sessions from artists on the label and will see artists from the label performing new material, alternate versions and back-catalogue covers.

Cheryl Cole to meet Ashley for 15 minutes

Cheryl Cole to meet Ashley for 15 minutes

Cheryl Cole has agreed to meet with her husband Ashley Cole for just 15 minutes.

The 'Fight for This Love’ singer – who left her spouse last week over claims he has cheated on her with several different women - has given into the soccer player’s demands and agreed to meet with him to discuss his alleged infidelity.

According to The Sun newspaper, she told a friend: "I can't imagine what he's got to say to my face that he hasn't already left messages about. What's he going to tell me that I haven't heard before?"

However, the 26-year-old pop beauty is adamant she won’t succumb to his charms and forgive him when he visits their marital home next week.

A pal said: "Ashley has been begging her to give their marriage another chance but in her mind it is over. How can she ever trust him again?

"Cheryl has agreed to meet - but it will be short and not so sweet.

"I don't know what he is hoping to achieve because her mind is made up. I suppose she wants to give him the chance to explain face-to-face - but as soon as those 15 minutes are up she is going to ask him to leave."

Instead of dwelling about the end of her marriage, Cheryl was determined to focus on her career as she returned to work yesterday (01.03.10) to film a new shampoo advert for beauty giant L’Oreal.

An insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Ever the professional, she didn’t once break down or cry. She was polite and friendly to all the crew, and simply knuckled down. She said she realised she couldn’t keep cancelling work commitments and needed to get back to business. Working keeps her mind off her private life, and she enjoys being busy. Cheryl did a fantastic job and the shoot went brilliantly.'

Meanwhile, the 29-year-old sportsman has admitted his life is 'ruined' now Cheryl has left him.

The Chelsea player broke down outside the sports injury clinic in France, where he is receiving treatment for a broken ankle, and launched into a four-letter tirade against fans and onlookers.

Sporting an unkempt beard, Ashley shouted: 'Why don’t you just f**k off? F**k off – you’re scum. You’ve ruined my life.

'Why doesn’t everyone just leave me alone? I’m here trying to get treatment.'

Beyonce a babysitter to her sister Solanges son

Beyonce Knowles is a babysitter to her sister Solange's son.

Solange often lets her pop superstar sibling look after five-year-old son Daniel - her child with ex-husband Daniel Smith - because she's so good with him.

She said: "Beyonce's very hands-on. I've had two weekends where I've been able to hand him over, and it's been very nerve-racking for me, but she does a great job."

Singer Solange also revealed Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z love spoiling Daniel when he stays with them.

She told America's OK! magazine: "They actually request him more than I'm willing to give him. But the bedtimes we got to work on. Sometimes I'll call expecting him to be asleep, but he's still up!"

The 'Halo' singer - who married rapper Jay-Z in a secret ceremony in 2008 - has always been very reluctant to speak about their home life, but Solange says they are a perfect match and Jay-Z makes a "very good uncle" as well as one that is "pretty cool".

Kesha wants a British boyfriend

Kesha wants a British boyfriend

The American singer – who is currently on a promotional tour of Europe – has set her sights on finding love on her travels and has already developed a crush on Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan after meeting him at the Shockwaves NME Awards this week.

Speaking about Tom, she said: "I met him backstage and he's hot. You guys have a lot of hot babes over here."

As well as the 'Fire’ rocker, the 'Tik Tok’ hitmaker also likes comedian Ricky Gervais.

She added: "That fat guy in 'The Office’. I'd hit that."

Kesha also confessed she and her band have an unusual pre-show ritual – which involves baby oil.

She explained: "Me and my band get naked, lather ourselves with baby oil then roll in glitter.

"We do it before every show.'

Kesha has previously confessed to being a big Kasabian fan.

She said: 'I went to the BRIT Awards and loved Florence and The Machine and Dizzee Rascal. And I want to take all the Kasabian guys home.'

The star also admitted she prefers her British fans to those anywhere else in the world.

Speaking ahead of her MySpace secret show in London recently, she said: 'Don’t tell America but the UK fans are the best. I’m throwing a huge animal party, performance and life should be about having fun and I embrace that message all the time.

'I hope I’m still on stage with these animals when I’m 45. I prefer the animals to humans.'
