Good Shoes are back

Good Shoes are back

Much loved Morden natives Good Shoes are back at last with the announcement of a 26 date UK tour in November and December and a free download of a new song.

Eschewing the 'big’ production path that many of their peers have followed, Good Shoes have opted for a genuine DIY ethic on the follow up to 2007’s 'Think Before You Speak’, which has now sold over 20,000 copies in the UK (and probably been downloaded twice as many times!), recording the new album over the course of the last year in various London basements and bedrooms. In addition, the band, who were the last ever to play at The London Astoria, will embark on their first full tour since their headlining show there at the end of 2007. 'We’re trying to play every place in the country basically,we’re visiting towns we've been to loads of times and also places we've never been before! Nice intimate gigs are what we've been enjoying recently so hopefully the fun will carry on!'.

Matt Bellamy prepared for an apocalypse

Matt Bellamy prepared for an apocalypse

Matt Bellamy bought an axe and 50 tins of beans because he was convinced the world was going to end.

The Muse frontman was researching conspiracy theories to inspire songwriting for new album The Resistance and became so convinced the apocalypse was imminent, he went on a panicked shopping spree to prepare himself for the worst.

He explained: "I read somewhere about a seven-day blockade and that the UK would run out of oil.

"Another seven days and we'd run out of food. That's why I bought the beans. The axe would chop firewood."

The Black Holes and Revelations singer claims not even his girlfriend - Gaia Polloni, who is a psychologist, could ease his fears.

He added to Q magazine: "She's Italian. They've seen it all there. The Roman Empire came and went. She's more laidback about history and politics.

"But to me it all feels so tenuous sometimes, especially in the UK. We are an island and are vulnerable."

Matt, 31, admits he is prone to bouts of paranoia but believes in the human spirit, which he says was the ultimate inspiration for the group's new record - which is released next month.

He explained: "I've been through periods where I've felt quite paranoid. But I also believe in the power of people to change things. There is a romance to fighting back against malevolent interests. The last album was dark and angry. This one is all about resisting the corporate-ocracy."

Cowell jumped Chanel queue for Burke

Cowell jumped Chanel queue for Burke

Simon Cowell jumped a waiting list to get Alexandra Burke's birthday present.

The 'X Factor' judge was determined to buy Alexandra - who found fame after winning the UK TV talent show last year - her dream gift, and knew she had her eyes on a padded black Chanel handbag.

The £7,000 accessory has a year-long waiting list, but Simon managed to charm his way to the top.

Alexandra, who turned 21 on Tuesday (25.08.09), was speechless when presented with the gift.

A source said: "Alex was in tears. Simon called in a few favours to make her day extra special. Things just couldn't be better for her."

The other 'X Factor' judges - Cheryl Cole, who was Alexandra's mentor on the show, and Dannii Minogue - also splashed out on lavish gifts for the singer.

Cheryl treated her to a £5,000 holiday at the Constance Lemuria resort in the Seychelles, while Dannii gave her a grey Tabitha bag.

Alexandra scored the Christmas number one in the UK singles chart after appearing on the show, with her cover of 'Hallelujah'.

Her new single 'Bad Boys', which features rapper Flo Rida, is out on October 12.

Gary Go releases free twitter song

Gary Go releases free twitter song

Fresh from supporting music royalty Take That and Lady Gaga on tour this summer, British singer-songwriter referred to by Q magazine as the 'One Man Coldplay’ - Gary Go - will release a new song he wrote on Twitter called 'The Heart Balloon’.

The song will be available on a pay-what-you-like basis with 100% voluntary donations towards the song going directly to the British Heart Foundation (BHF) on Friday 21 August.

'The Heart Balloon’ will be available to download for a limited time only from Friday 21 August at 8am until midnight on Monday 31 August via the charity’s website www.bhf.org.uk/garygo

This all began when Gary saw a heart-shaped balloon entangled in a tree outside his house. The self confessed hopeless romantic that he is, Gary uploaded a picture of it onto twitter and kept his fans up-dated with its progress. After suggesting he write a song about it, Gary then asked his Twitter followers to tweet song lyric ideas to him about the heart balloon and the rest, as they say, is history.

Jessica Simpson has a gay dog

Jessica Simpson's dog is a lesbian.

The singer-and-actress claims her Maltipoo pooch Daisy - who was a gift from ex-husband Nick Lachey - has found happiness with a hound called Bella.

Alongside a dimly-lit picture of the dogs, Jessica, 29, wrote on her Twitter page: "Daisy and her best friend Bella back together again. Lesbian lovas forever! (sic)"

While Daisy has found love, Jessica is single after recently being dumped by American football star Tony Romo shortly before her 29th birthday.

It was recently reported the scorned star had paid a witch she met on the internet to put a curse on her ex-boyfriend.

A source said: "Jessica is normally a really sweet girl, but she still can't believe Tony callously dumped her.

"She found a woman in California. The two met at the star's Beverly Hills home where they lit a candle, burned some incense and performed a couple of incantations."

Lemonade to debut at The Social

To celebrate the UK release of their debut album Lemonade will be performing live at The Social on the 8th September, with support from Django Django and DJ sets from Allez Allez and Heavenly Juke box

Lemonade is Callan Clendenin, Alex Pasternak and Ben Steidel. Originally from San Francisco but now based in Brooklyn, the trio are set to release their self titled debut album through Rob da Bank’s Sunday Best Recordings on 14th September 2009.

Lemonade became a firm fixture on San Francisco’s underground, playing everything from basement shows to warehouses, dance clubs to DIY venues, art galleries to rooftops, where their eruptive and exhilarating live experience managed to unify diverse crowds in rapturous euphoria.

The album was recorded and mixed by Chris Coady (TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, !!!, Blonde Redhead) at Stay Gold in Brooklyn and it takes the listener on a rollercoaster ride through the band’s many musical influences. Grime and dubstep form the undertones but the band pull everything from drone to dancehall to acid house into the mix, and percussionist Alex’s training in Arab and Latin music further broadens the music's sound palate.

The album is preceded by the single 'Big Weekend’ which was released on 20th July and they are set to play Bestival this summer as well as other dates around the UK including a headline set at Sunday Best’s monthly party at Proud in Camden on 2nd September.

hey Negrita album and single

hey Negrita album and single

UNIQUE transatlantic country blues exponents hey Negrita are back and better than ever with all-acoustic, melody-rich new album 'Burn The Whole Place Down’, released October 5.

Inspired by the success of a series of acoustic performances for various BBC shows – including Bob Harris on Radio Two – the band took time out from their tour in support of 2008 album 'You Can Kick’ and shifted into Miloko Studios, south London, for a spur-of-the-moment session.

'The idea was to cut as many tracks as we could in five hours without any overdubs or edits,' singer-songwriter Felix Bechtolsheimer explains. 'So we put down our electric guitars, turned off the amps and stripped back the drums. We just sat, in a circle, and put some microphones up. We didn’t even bother with headphones. We wanted to capture the raw energy of one of our live performances, while preserving the intimacy of how we sound when we’re jamming in the kitchen.'

The result of the impromptu session was 'Burn The Whole Place Down’, hey Negrita’s fourth and perhaps most diverse record to date. It may, in some ways, come as a surprise to anyone who has caught the band in action in recent years on their tours with Alabama 3, The Beach Boys and Tony Joe White, or at festivals such as SXSW, Glastonbury, Latitude and The End of the Road Festival.

Despite being renowned for the kind of raucous live performances that Mojo, in its review of the band’s recent Austin show, labelled 'a joyful sour-mash sodden affair’, this album of acoustic tracks sees hey Negrita shifting down several gears. In many ways the gentler, unplugged approach allows their deft way with melody and lyrics to shine through like never before.

Backed up by a series of the animated videos, a viral game from animation studio PEW 36 and four 'live in the studio’ films from award-winning director Alex Walker (of 'We Dreamed America’ fame), Fat Fox Records will be releasing two singles ahead of the launch of the album on October 5.

Smashing Pumpkins get a new drummer

SMASHING PUMPKINS have announced that they have recruited a new drummer.

19 year-old Mike Byrne has replaced original drummer Jimmy Chamberlin after he left the band in March this year.

A few weeks later, frontman Billy Corgan announced an open call to find a replacement and today said Byrne had stood out during auditions.

In a statement on the band's official website, he said: "Through the open audition process, I was astounded by how many great drummers there were that wanted the chance to try out for the Pumpkins.

"We counted over 1,000 submissions, and what made Mike stand out was he just seemed to have that 'X Factor' that all the great drummers have, a stunning blend of power, speed, and grace.

"I'm excited to work with him moving forward - he truly deserves this opportunity. I believe in my heart he will push me to be a better musician."

Byrne, who is expected to make his live debut with Corgan at six solo southern California club dates later this month, added that he was "super-excited to be playing with the band", and it was a "dream come true".

Miley Cyrus co-star wants sequel

Miley Cyrus’ co-star wants a 'Hannah Montana’ movie sequel to be made.

Emily Osment – who plays Miley’s on-screen best friend Lilly Truscott in the movie and TV series – is desperate to work alongside the outspoken starlet on a follow-up movie or stage show.

She explained: "I don't think anyone wants to see 'Hannah Montana’ ever end, so I think we need to do that. We need to do something like 'Hannah Montana Goes to London’ or 'Hannah Montana on Ice’!"

However, the 17-year-old actress - who is currently filming the fourth season of the Disney TV show - is having too much fun on set to worry about 'Hannah Montana’ coming to an end.

Emily said: "I would love to do a season five. I have a blast with these guys."

In March, Miley, 16, admitted she didn’t want there to be anymore 'Hannah Montana’ films so she could focus on expanding her career.

Meanwhile, Emily’s relationship with Miley is about to experience a competitive twist as she prepares to release her debut 'rock' album this year.

Emily will be working hard to add a unique twist to her music to stop the comparisons between her and Miley.

She explained: "I'm on a completely different label. I'm on Wind-up Records, and they have some hard rocking bands, so I have to keep with that. It's pop, but it's definitely rock, too. I'm sort of a rock 'n' roller, so I have to put a little bit of that in there."

Jackson harmed himself for drugs

Jackson harmed himself for drugs

Michael Jackson "self-harmed" to get more painkillers.

Police investigating the singer's death believe he deliberately hurt himself in the weeks before he died to convince doctors to prescribe him extra medication.

A source said: 'Los Angeles Police Department detectives have interviewed some 30 to 35 witnesses so far, and it has come to light that Michael was prone to self-harming.

'He’d bang his head against the wall, hit his fists and arms against furniture, anything to cause a cut or bruise.

'He wanted to convince his doctors that he’d had an accident and was in a lot of pain – a legitimate reason to ask for painkillers.

'This came up as part of the investigation into Michael’s drug-taking. So far there’s no evidence to prove or disprove the claims.'

Witnesses have also revealed the "terrifying" side-effects of Michael's addiction, which included shaking fits, violent outbursts, hallucinations and "bouts of wailing during the night".

The pop icon’s drug use is said to have increased dramatically in the lead-up to his 50-date 'This Is It' London concert residency – which was due to start in just weeks after his death on June 25 - as rehearsals left him exhausted and full of "aches and pains".

A Jackson family source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: 'He made a huge deal about his injuries after rehearsals. He complained of back pain, pain in his joints, aching legs. Staff had their suspicions that he sometimes invented pain or hurt himself to get attention.

'Michael self-harmed mainly as an attention-seeking mechanism or to gain sympathy. He enjoyed being cared for. It was a huge cry for help.'

The family friend claims the 'King of Pop' had been self-harming since Jordan Chandler's father made sexual abuse allegations against him in 1993.

They claim it intensified in 2005 when Michael went to court to face charges of child molestation against 13-year-old Gavin Arvizo. He was eventually acquitted of all charges.

Meanwhile, Michael's personal physician Conrad Murray has spoken about his client's death for the first time.

In a brief video released online, Murray – who is at the centre of police investigations into the singer's death and is believed to have injected him with the powerful anaesthetic Propofol which is alleged to have killed him - said: "I have done all I could do, I told the truth, and I have faith the truth will prevail.

"Because of all that is going on, I'm afraid to return phone calls or use my email. Therefore, I recorded this video to let all of you know that I have been receiving the messages."

Liam slates Noel's solo plans

Liam slates Noels solo plans

Liam Gallagher thinks his brother Noel's solo album will be "awful".

The Oasis frontman insists he is happy for his sibling, and Oasis bandmate, to work on his own musical project, but doesn't think it can match the quality of the group's records.

He told NME magazine: "Who knows, man, maybe he needs to go and do his solo record. f**king hell, I don't know, I really don't know.

"If doing a solo album makes him happy, yeah, it makes him happy. It would sound very civilised I reckon - that's a f***ing awful thing - but maybe it's a good thing for him."

While Liam is adamant he is happy with Noel's proposed LP, he admits he would prefer to make a new Oasis album next year instead.

He added: "If it was up to me I'd have six months off and then get straight back in the studio and make records. That's what I'm in Oasis for. I'm not here to f***ing sit around for five years twiddling my thumbs."

Noel revealed his solo plans earlier this year, saying: "I've got a lot of songs lying around and some of them are really great. But they're not Oasis songs. They're going to sit there and do nothing, so hopefully at the end of this tour I'm going to go and do something for myself."

Calvin Harris seeks Robbie collaboration

CALVIN HARRIS has admitted that he would like to work with Robbie Williams.

The Scottish producer said the former Take That was highest on his wish list of artists to collaborate with.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: "I want to work with Robbie, he's my number one target now.

"I think he's just finished his new album with Trevor Horn though. Maybe he can come help me on my next record instead."

When he spoke to digitalspy.co.uk recently, Harris confirmed that he had been in contact with Williams.

He said: "I did get an email from Robbie Williams the other day, which was just mental.

"He sent me a picture of him, the Spice Girls and Boyzone wearing ridiculous '90s pop outfits and said, 'Please stop being a popstar because you're making us all look bad'. I thought that was a really nice thing to do."

Harris also recently confirmed that he was planning to collaborate with both Katy Perry and Kylie Minogue on their new albums.

Ricky Martin posts kids pic on Twitter

Ricky Martin posts kids pic on Twitter

Ricky Martin has posted a touching photo of his twin sons on Twitter.

The 'Livin’ La Vida Loca’ singer celebrated Valentino and Matteo – his children through an unknown surrogate mother – recently turning one with a day at the beach and shared a series of intimate family snaps with his fans.

In one picture, the tanned star - clad just in swimming shorts - smiles into the camera, clutching a tot in each arm.

In another, he is seen building sand castles with the boys, and he also posted individual pictures of the children riding their toy trucks.

Ricky, 37, is loving fatherhood and insists he is raising the children single-handedly.

He has previously said: 'I don't have a nanny. I'm doing this on my own because I don't want to miss a moment. I'm the one who changes the diapers, the one that feeds them, the one that bathes them, the one that puts them to sleep.

'Valentino loves to sleep. I call him 'Mr. Peace and Love' because he's so chilled and serene. Matteo is more alert and active.'

Nicola Roberts to enrol in beauty college

Nicola Roberts to enrol in beauty college

Nicola Roberts is going back to school.

The Girls Aloud singer is using the group’s current hiatus to enrol in a college course to boost her beauty knowledge to give her more technical expertise when working on her Dainty Doll make-up range.

A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: 'Nicola is serious about her beauty range and doesn’t want to put her name to anything she’s not 100 per cent sure of.

'She wants to know the ins and outs of everything, which is why she’s looking into doing a course.

'The range started off as a bit of fun for the TV show 'Passions of Girls Aloud’ but now she’s focused on making Dainty Doll work. If that means going back to school to learn about the business, then she’s prepared to do it.'

While Nicola focuses on her beauty range, the remaining members of Girls Aloud are using their year-long sabbatical to concentrate on different ventures.

Sarah Harding is currently filming a new 'St. Trinians’ movie and hopes to land further acting roles, while Kimberley Walsh is also taking acting classes.

Nadine Coyle and Cheryl Cole are both working on solo albums, while Cheryl is also busy with her work as a judge on UK TV talent contest 'The X Factor’.

Ian Brown to release Stellify

Ian Brown to release Stellify

The new single Stellify is released 21 September on Fiction.

It is followed a week later by his sixth studio album, My Way, which will debut almost two years to the day after his last long player, The World Is Yours. Where that record was led by the anti-war single Illegal Attacks, My Way sees Brown moving from the social commentary to the personal, drawing deep from his own experiences to create his most intensely emotional record in years.

The bulk of the 12 tracks were co-written with long time collaborator Dave McCracken at Battery Studios, London, where Brown and the Stone Roses recorded their seminal debut 20 years before. When he bumped into that album’s producer, John Leckie, in the studio corridors for the first time in two decades, it proved the catalyst for another landmark record, but this time one that spans the length and breadth of Brown’s extraordinary life.

Stellify, the opening track and first single, sets the tone, with staccato rhythms colliding with pounding bass and euphoric brass, as Brown addresses his 'angel falling from the sky'. Another standout track Crowning Of The Poor quickly follows, telling the tale of the 'son of a poor boy', of dreams and aspirations, and of where things went right and wrong. Whilst the lyrics find Brown in reflective mood, the instrumentation is resolutely forward-thinking, led by propulsive synths, hip-hop beats and basslines strenuously road-tested by his teenage son’s in-car rig. By the time So High brings the album to a close, Brown has covered more than four decades, including 12 years of the Roses and more than 10 as a solo performer, whilst assembling an album that is arguably his finest work.

Ian Brown has been confirmed as a very special guest on the main stage at the 2009 Reading and Leeds festivals. More dates will be announced shortly.

Stellify is released 21 September 2009 on Fiction; My Way follows 28 September.

George Michael arrested

George Michael arrested

GEORGE MICHAEL has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving.

The singer was detained by police after crashing his car into the back of a lorry while allegedly doing over 100mph.

Motorists who witnessed the accident on the A34 road in Berkshire, England, yesterday, said they feared the 46-year-old singer was dead as he sat dazed in the vehicle for ten minutes.

The lorry driver, Lawrie Rowe, said Michael, who only recently got his driving licence back after a two-year ban for drug-driving in 2007, was speeding.

He said: "He must have been doing 100mph. When he got out he couldn't walk straight."

Michael, who wrote off his Land Rover in the accident, was arrested at the scene and taken to a nearby police station, where he was questioned for five hours before finally being released without charge.

A police spokeswoman said: "The driver of the Land Rover, a 46-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody. He was later released without charge."

In February 2006, Michael was cautioned for drug possession after sleeping at the wheel of his car.

Two months later he hit three parked cars outside his London home and in May 2006 he crashed his car after again falling asleep at the wheel while listening to his iPod.

That same year, in October, he was arrested after police found him unconscious in his vehicle at a junction in London.

He was banned from driving for two years after pleading guilty to driving while unfit through drugs.

Michael Jackson has earned £60 million since death

Michael Jackson has earned £60 million since his death.

Executors of the singer's estate claim money from a film deal and merchandising contracts has "flooded" into Michael's bank accounts since he died in June.

They predict the pop superstar will make another £60 million by the end of the year, and expect him to overtake Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain and Elvis Presley – who have made £450 million and £362 million respectively from beyond the grave - as the highest-earning dead celebrity in the next 12 months.

Lawyer John Branca, who is co-executor of Michael’s estate, said: 'Clearly this will be a new record for estates that likely will not be broken. Elvis’ estate makes £33million a year. This will be a bigger estate.'

Branca and fellow co-executor, music executive John McClain, have put together a series of deals for commemorative coins, school supplies, a coffee-table book and a film.

They have also been retrieving funds held for Michael by anonymous creditors, thought to amount to "several million pounds", and tallying the value of the singer's property, memorabilia and art collections.

While Michael's earnings steadily increase, his older sister La Toya has spoken about her grief at her sibling’s passing.

She said: "It's a very difficult moment for all of us. It's almost - you don't believe it - so you try to do the best you can by feeling his love, by helping and doing something he would want you to do."

Meanwhile, law enforcement sources claim Michael's doctor Conrad Murray had Propofol hidden in the singer's house.

Police officers found three large bottles and five smaller vials of the anaesthetic stashed in a closet in Murray's bedroom at the star's Los Angeles home.

They also believe Murray received regular shipments of the powerful drug – reportedly used to help Michael sleep, and believed to have played a part in his death – through courier service FedEx, which he then hid in other locations.

The search warrant used to raid the Las Vegas pharmacy frequented by Murray showed investigators were looking for FedEx records relating to "the purchase, transfer, receiving, ordering, delivery and storage of Propofol to Dr. Conrad Murray".

Police were also looking for credit card receipts relating to a purchase of Propofol the doctor made in May.

Amy Winehouse cat calling

Amy Winehouse cat calling

Amy Winehouse is posing as her cat to send secret messages to Blake Fielder-Civil.

The 'Rehab' singer has created a profile for her pet feline Shirley on social networking site Facebook and is using it to talk to her estranged husband, who she is in the process of divorcing.

In a series of bizarre messages, Amy refers to Blake – who is in rehab in Yorkshire, north England – as 'Sailor', known to be one of her nicknames for him.

One of the rambling posts reads: "Oi mummy was saying to her friend about the time she made you breakfast and you drank all the nesquik til you was sick xxxxxxx (sic)."

Another says: "Sailor sort it you're her co-hort. consort still. as you both know you're unswerving. just as much as you're deserving."

Last night (13.08.09), the cat's status read "Shirley loves Sailor".

Amy and Blake were granted a decree nisi - a preliminary stage of divorce which will become absolute next month - in the Family Division of London's High Court on July 16 following the breakdown of their troubled two-year marriage.

At the time, Amy's spokesman said: "She is ready to move on following the end of the marriage. Amy has not had any contact with Blake for months and is focusing on the future. She is finishing her album and in good health."

The Prodigy plan massive row

The Prodigy plan massive row

THE PRODIGY have said they plan to have a huge bust-up before their next album.

The group jokingly said they want to have a massive row and fall out before heading back into the studio.

They claimed they want to match the success of their last LP Invaders Must Die, which they said was written during some "really hard times".

Liam Howlett said: "The next album will probably be recorded while we are still on tour, but first we need to have a bust-up."

Keith Flint added: "We are jiving and putting little one-liners towards each other at the minute."

"Then on Thursday I'll leave Liam a really nasty voicemail in the early hours just to start the paranoia going.

"We'll leave it for a year or more maybe and then come back and get stuck into serious songwriting."

But despite previous problems within the band, Flint insisted that he is dedicated to their continued success.

"Everything I do relates to the band and everything I do I think how it may influence the band because it is so precious you can't pollute it.

"You can't f*** with this because once you have then there is no coming back ' it is always on your mind."

Prince in rent deposit lawsuit

Prince in rent deposit lawsuit

PRINCE has been caught up in a lawsuit over an unreturned house deposit.

The singer was renting a £100,000 ($150,000)-a-month house in Los Angeles and forgot to collect his £200,000 ($300,000) security deposit when he left.

Now, according to legal papers obtained by TMZ.com, property agents 3121 Rep Inc., the company which brokered the lease for Prince, filed a lawsuit two months ago suing the owners of the house in an attempt to get the money back.

But the homeowners have insisted they give the money straight back to Prince, and said the superstar made all the payments himself and that 3121 was just a third party in the arrangements.

The two sides are now suing each other, with 3121 demanding the £200,000 ($300,000), while the owners of the L.A. property want their lawyer's fees paying.

Sharon Osbourne will always have bulimia

Sharon Osbourne will always have bulimia

Sharon Osbourne will never be free from bulimia.

The 'America’s Got Talent’ judge has suffered from the eating disorder since she was a teenager and while she now has it under control, she admits it she will always have issues with food.

Sharon – who had gastric band surgery in 1999 – said: 'If I’m honest, I don’t think I’ll ever be totally free from that. It’s much more under control but food for me will never be easy.'

Sharon – who is married to rocker Ozzy Osbourne – has likened her relationship with food to the one Ozzy has with drink and drugs, addictions which have plagued him most of his life.

She said: 'Absolutely. I used it as a shield. It was a way to fend off rejection - you’ll never want me, look how fat I am. I’ll be the fat, funny one.'

Last week, Sharon claimed she is successful because she is "short, fat and hairy".

The TV star - who began her career as a rock manager - worked harder to have a thriving career because of her imperfections.

Sharon - who has undergone multiple cosmetic procedures to improve her looks - told Psychologies magazine: "My achievements are down to my looks, or lack of them. I'm not putting myself down, that's the truth.

"Being short, fat and hairy means you have to develop a brain and personality and be fun and smart and learn to get on with people and make deals."

Vanessa Hudgens perfected songs by playing computer games

Vanessa Hudgens perfected the rock songs in her new film by playing computer games.

The 20-year-old actress - who plays a teenage rocker in 'Bandslam' - has revealed she and her co-stars practised before their scenes by using a Nintendo Wii interactive games console.

The brunette beauty is quoted as saying: "We would not stop playing Rock Band! It was ridiculous. When we had lunch breaks we would go into the trailers and play Rock Band and I sucked at the drums.

"Ryan Donowho, who is the drummer in the movie, was incredible. He could play it on expert and not miss a single beat so I was intimidated by that and everybody else was good at guitar so I usually got stuck with vocals."

Rock Band is an interactive music game that allows users to play a variety of instruments or sing along to popular songs. This is not the first time Vanessa has been intimidated by a co-star. She recently revealed she was "freaked out" by 'Beastly' actor Alex Pettyfer's scary costume.

She said: "It was crazy, I saw the picture of his 'Beast' make-up for like a millisecond and then I was like, 'Oh no, I can't look!'

"I waited until I got to see him in person and it moved me in a really weird and peculiar way. It's so mind-blowing the prosthetics they've done on him. He changes as a complete person. I was freaked out, honestly."

Jessica Simpson gets lingerie moods

Jessica Simpson's mood depends on her underwear.

The 29-year-old singer "strongly believes" her bra and knickers "set the tone" for her whole day.

The blonde beauty - who recently designed her own range of underwear - said: "Of course I love lingerie. What girl doesn't? My lingerie reflects the way I'm feeling when I wake up and helps me set the tone for my day. I wear whatever my mood calls for.

"Lingerie is a special part of what you wear every day. It's fun to pick different colours and styles. What you wear underneath your clothes helps define the outfit, whether T-shirt bras, push-up bras, different patterns and colours - you always have to choose what works best."

As soon as her underwear ranges hits stores, Jessica has vowed to "live" in it.

She added to Women's Wear Daily website: "It is important to me personally to be able to wear my own line. It's a great collection of feminine, sexy, regular and full-figured bras which are going to be amazing.

"We are also working on a sleepwear collection that I know I will live in. We have focused on using really soft fabrics that feel good against your skin. The whole line centres around great basics for every day that are comfortable and fit your body.

"We spent a lot of time on the details. I really wanted to make this line special!"
