The Orb to debut Baghdad Batteries live

The Orb to debut Baghdad Batteries live

Going strong after over 20 years, still producing great new material and gigging, The Orb are a living, breathing band. September 10th is not a reunion and not a nostalgia gig.

On September 10th The Orb will make the live debut of their ace new album Baghdad Batteries (and some old faves, if we’re lucky). Expect the full psychedelic, sensory overload that transcends your average live show and venue, resulting in a truly unique Orbient experience. The evening will feature 8 projectors, two large screens plus entire audience will become a human screen. On entry each ticketholder will be given an exclusive, numbered white overall onto which a visual spectacle will be projected.

The mighty Orb return in September 2009 with new longplayer Baghdad Batteries, on Malicious Damage Records. An album of classic Orb elements combined with new twists, Baghdad Batteries utilises years at the forefront of the ever-changing spectrum of electronic sub-genres. For the uninitiated, The Orb are national treasures and musical pioneers.

These startling electronic odysseys were hatched by Orb founder Dr Alex Paterson and with long-time collaborator Thomas Fehlmann, The Orb’s Berlin connection. Setting the controls beyond any earthly confines, the duo’s jaunt is laced with humour and passes many moons of dub, techno, minimal, ambient, house, rock steady and the avant garde on their journey through the cosmos.
