Lemonade to debut at The Social

Lemonade to debut at The Social

To celebrate the UK release of their debut album Lemonade will be performing live at The Social on the 8th September, with support from Django Django and DJ sets from Allez Allez and Heavenly Juke box

Lemonade is Callan Clendenin, Alex Pasternak and Ben Steidel. Originally from San Francisco but now based in Brooklyn, the trio are set to release their self titled debut album through Rob da Bank’s Sunday Best Recordings on 14th September 2009.

Lemonade became a firm fixture on San Francisco’s underground, playing everything from basement shows to warehouses, dance clubs to DIY venues, art galleries to rooftops, where their eruptive and exhilarating live experience managed to unify diverse crowds in rapturous euphoria.

The album was recorded and mixed by Chris Coady (TV on the Radio, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, !!!, Blonde Redhead) at Stay Gold in Brooklyn and it takes the listener on a rollercoaster ride through the band’s many musical influences. Grime and dubstep form the undertones but the band pull everything from drone to dancehall to acid house into the mix, and percussionist Alex’s training in Arab and Latin music further broadens the music's sound palate.

The album is preceded by the single 'Big Weekend’ which was released on 20th July and they are set to play Bestival this summer as well as other dates around the UK including a headline set at Sunday Best’s monthly party at Proud in Camden on 2nd September.
