Following last year's inaugural 4AD Session with Tune-Yards, the next installment is now airing online and comes courtesy of recent 4AD singings, Efterklang.
Filmed in the band's home city of Copenhagen, this second session takes place in the beautiful surroundings of VEGA and gives most fans a first glance of the band performing new material taken from their recent Magic Chairs album live. In a four-song set, they perform 'I Was Playing Drums', 'Alike', 'Me Me Me The Brick House' and 'Modern Drift'.
As a live entity, the core band of Mads Brauer, Casper Clausen, Thomas Husmer and Rasmus Stolberg are joined by Heather Broderick, Peter Broderick and Frederik Teige.
"The session gives you Efterklang as we would perform live on a stage, not Efterklang performing live with an acoustic guitar and two spoons (although we also like that format)." Efterklang talking about the session.
The band’s new album, Magic Chairs, is out now on 4AD and the band are scheduled to play live shows in the US and Europe shortly.
The 4AD Sessions are a dedicated home for exclusive live sessions from artists on the label and will see artists from the label performing new material, alternate versions and back-catalogue covers.
