Susan Boyle snubbed by BRITs

Despite selling 1.6 million albums in the UK, Susan Boyle did not receive one nomination for the 2010 BRIT Awards.

The decision to ignore the biggest selling artist in Britain last is seen by many as a slap in the face to Simon Cowell, who has manipulated the UK music scene with his reality shows Britain’s Got Talent, X-Factor and American Idol.

The only place where Cowell acts are nominated at all is in the British Single category where radio listeners vote for a winner, not the industry.

Alexandra Burke and Joe McElderry both managed a nomination in that category but as there we no singles from Susan Boyle’s 'I Dreamed A Dream’ album, she did not qualify.

Susan also did not rate a mention in Best Female Solo Act, Britney Breakthrough Act or British Album.

The BRIT Awards are on February 16 from Earl’s Court in London.
