Muse to headline Glastonbury
Stevie Wonder and Muse are to headline this years Glastonbury Festival.
Organiser Michael Eavis has let slip the two acts will perform at the world famous music event, which this year celebrates its 40th anniversary, this summer.
Speaking at the Event Production Show at Londons Olympia today (02.02.10), he revealed the 'Supermassive Black Hole hitmakers will headline on Saturday June 26, while the legendary Motown singer is highly 'probable' to top the bill on the closing night (27.06.10), in what will be his debut at the festival.
U2 are already confirmed as headliners for the Friday night (25.06.10).
Several major acts, including David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and Radiohead, had been tipped for the prestigious Sunday evening slot.
However, Michaels daughter and co-organiser Emily Eavis admitted earlier this week a 'festival virgin' would be headlining the final night.
She said: 'Were pretty much sewn up now. Were still slightly confirming the Sunday night headliner but apart from that, weve pretty much finalised the Pyramid Stage which is good.
'Its a 40-year celebration this year so weve got some amazing highlights from the full 40 years and also some people who havent played before, one headliner in particular, so were very pleased with it.
'Were hoping to announce the names soon because I think theres an air of desperation and I understand that people want to know.'
The festival takes place over the weekend of June 24-27 at Worthy Farm in Somerset, South West England.
