Go West announce 10 date UK tour
Go West will embark on a 10-date UK tour on Thursday April 8th at the Cheltenham Town Hall. The duo, comprising of Peter Cox (vocals) and Richard Drummie (guitar), who are best known for their smash hit singles We Close Our Eyes and Call Me, originally released their self-titled debut album in 1985 and this went on to sell over 1.5 million copies in the UK.
Legendary record producer Arif Mardin once described the bands sound as 'Modern Motown.' Go West have also scored hits with the songs Goodbye Girl and Dont Look Down.
Aptly described as 'The 25th Anniversary Concert', Go Wests highly anticipated UK tour will see the band perform songs from their colourful career, including soul and pop classics from their critically acclaimed second album Dancing On the Couch, including the Top Ten hit singles True Colours, I Wanna Hear It From You and The King Is Dead.
April 2010 tour dates include Cheltenam (Apr 8), Lowestoft (Apr 9), Birmingham (Apr 10), Gateshead (Apr 11), Basildon (Apr 15), Chatham (Apr 16), Peterborough (Apr 17), Barrow (Apr 18), Rhyl (Apr 21), London (Apr 23), Milton Keynes (Apr 25 / 26).
The winners of 'Best British Newcomer at the 1986 BRIT Awards, Go West will also perform their massive 1990 hit The King Of Wishful Thinking, the opening song from the hugely successful Julia Roberts and Richard Gere Hollywood blockbuster 'Pretty Woman (the soundtrack album sold over 12 million copies worldwide and the song was one of the most played songs in America from 1991-1992).
The forthcoming UK tour follows hot on the heels of a new solo album from Peter Cox entitled 'The S1 Sessions which is released in March.
To coincide with Go Wests nationwide UK tour this April, Go West will release a re-recorded version of their 1985 hit 'Call Me couple with brand new song 'Skin Deep. The single will be available as a digital download and on CD.
