Lou Reed will be crowned King Neptune and his wife Laurie Anderson will be Queen Mermaid at the 2010 Mermaid Parade at Coney Island in June.
The Mermaid Parade is one of New York’s big summer events and will take place on June 19 at 2pm.
The Reed’s will lead the parade featuring up to 10,000 people dressed as fish through Coney Island and into the sea.
Afterwards, the mermaids and mermen will gather for the official after-party at the New York Aquarium’s Ocean Deck with the finest burlesque and sideshow superstars New York has to offer including Little Brooklyn, Creamy Stevens, Miss Coney Island and Princess Sunshine.
