Russell Brand enjoyed the 'most sober stag party in history' over the weekend
The former alcohol and drug addict and reformed womaniser ' who is set to marry singer Katy Perry next month ' marked the imminent end of his bachelor status with a host of star friends, including ex-Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, comedian David Walliams and TV presenter Jonathan Ross, with a weekend of activities which included watching a soccer match and raft building.
The bash ' which was organised by his manager, Nik Linnen ' started at The Grove hotel in Hertfordshire, near London, on Saturday (25.09.10) where Russell and his friends were taken by bus to watch his favourite soccer team West Ham United beat London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, before privately dining at the York and Albany restaurant.
The party then eventually ended up at table dancing club Angels, where proprietor Peter Stringfellow handed the freedom of the club over to Russell and his pals.
The comic actor ' who comes from the county of Essex in East England - tweeted: 'West Ham beat Spurs and Stringfellow just tild me to 'do what you like'; truly I am the Duke of Essex (sic).'
Party loving Angels owner Stringfellow told the Daily Mirror newspaper: 't was the most sober stag party in the history of nightclubs.
't was excellent and we really enjoyed ourselves ' including Noel. It was a wonderful night and everybody behaved themselves respectably.'
The party then headed back to the hotel before 2am, before getting up early the next day for the raft building competition, and the weekend ended with a quiet meal.
It is believed Katy, 25, and Russell, 35, will marry in India sometime in October.

The Concretes are back
Following a three-year sabbatical The Concretes are back. Forthcoming single All Day is hitting the airwaves, new album WYWH is released in November and they've lined up a UK tour for December.
WYWH is the Concretes very own disco album. Not disco in a euphoric 70's way but disco with a dark side. They'll be showcasing tracks from the album at five UK dates.
DECEMBER:
1st ' LONDON, Lexington
2nd ' BRISTOL, The Fleece
3rd ' MANCHESTER, Deaf Institute
4th ' GLASGOW, The Arches
5th ' BRIGHTON, Ballroom
Buy tickets here and if they are sold out try our partners here.
Meanwhile The Concretes release the debut single from WYWH on October 11th. An ode to retreating from the world and spending all day with the one you love, All Day wraps a youthful naiveté around a genuine knack for pop melody.
Featuring frontwoman Lisa Milberg alone in an apartment surrounded by piles of books and diaphanous projections, the video for All Day reflects the hypnagogic mood of the song. Glowing with woven images, the video transports the song out of the ordinary into a magical, ethereal realm.

Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine to stop singing about women
The 'Misery' singer admits it is 'absolutely ridiculous' how many models are featured in the band's songs, videos and album covers, and is planning for the group to take a new direction.
Speaking of the situation, Adam said: ' need to find something else to harp on about, you know? I am aware of that.
' don't think anyone on planet Earth wants to see me kissing another girl. It is absolutely ridiculous at this point. We're ready to change that. Definitely.
' don't know if I can stomach doing that again. But, you know what? There are some amazing things on the horizon; we have some pretty cool ideas about our next record.
'We want to change things up, absolutely, it's getting a bit tired.'
Adam also admits he had to come to terms with turning 30 while making the band's third album, 'Hands All Over'.
He added: ' have Peter Pan syndrome, I guess, I don't really want to grow up. I think that when I turned 30, it forced me to mature in some ways and still maintain my childish ways in others.'

Katy Perrys Sesame Street appearance axed as her boobs are too big
The pop beauty recently filmed an appearance on the long-running children's show in which she performs her song 'Hot N' Cold' with puppet Elmo in a low-cut dress.
A clip of the performance appeared on YouTube this week resulting in a flood of complaints from parents concerned her outfit was too revealing and leading to bosses scrapping her segment.
Comments on the video sharing website included 'You can practically see her t**s. That's some wonderful children's programming,' "They're gonna have to rename it cleavage avenue' and 'my kid wants milk now".
After pressure from parents, the show released a statement confirming the footage would not appear on screens.
The statement read: 'Sesame Street has always been written on two levels, for the child and adult. We use parodies and celebrity segments to interest adults in the show because we know that a child learns best when co-viewing with a parent or caregiver. We also value our viewers' opinions and particularly those of parents.
'n light of the feedback we've received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on YouTube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street, which is aimed at pre-schoolers. Katy Perry fans will still be able to view the video on YouTube."

Phil Collins has vowed to never marry again
Despite being very happy in his relationship with newsreader Dana Tyler, the former Genesis star - who has been married three times, to Andrea Bertorelli, Jill Taverman and Orianne Cevey ' has no plans to ever tie the knot again.
He said: 'She's a very sweet girl, sweet lady but I'm not going to get married again. I think I'm better off on my own.'
The 59-year-old singer ' who now lives in Switzerland so that he can be near his sons Nicholas, nine, and Matthew, five, from his marriage to Orianne ' also revealed he has such a good relationship with his ex-wives that he often goes out for dinner with all three of them.
He added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: ''m very proud of the fact that we go out and sit at the same table. It's what life should be like. And it often isn't, because people take sides, Whatever happened, happened and it wasn't one person's fault.'
Phil's reluctance to marry Dana could be due to his recent declaration he is still in love with Orianne.
He said: 'We are very much in love with each other actually. The fact is the divorce never should have happened.'

Lynyrd Skynyrd inspirational namesake Leonard Skinner dies
Leonard Skinner, the Florida school teacher who taught students who would go on to name their band Lynyrd Skynyrd, has died at the age of 77.
Skinner was a gym teacher at Robert E. Lee high school in Jacksonville, Florida. His students included Gary Rossington and Bob Burns, Lynyrd Skynrd founding members.
The name was to mock Skinner who was a strict teacher and would send them to the Principals office for having long hair.
At the Lynyrd Skynyrd website, Gary Rossington posted the following message:
"Leonard Skinner, the no-nonsense, flat-topped basketball coach and gym teacher whose name is forever linked with Jacksonville's legendary Lynyrd Skynyrd, died in his sleep early Monday morning. He was 77".
"Coach Skinner had such a profound impact on our youth that ultimately led us to naming the band, which you know as Lynyrd Skynyrd, after him. Looking back, I cannot imagine it any other way. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time."
Lynyrd Skynyrd started out as One Percent but soon changed their name to name-check Skinner.
In more recent years, Skinner and the band developed a friendly relationship. At one stage, he introduced them on stage at a concert in Jacksonville.
Leonard Skinner had been suffering from Alzheimers disease. He did, however, outlive seven Lynyrd Skynrd members, including Ronnie Van Zant and Steve Gaines who were killed in a plane crash in 1977.

Nicole Scherzinger is set to marry Lewis Hamilton
The Pussycat Dolls singer - who has been dating the British Formula 1 driver since 2008 - is ready to start trying for a baby but wants to get married before she has children.
Nicole, 32, said: "I'm really traditional - I'd want to be married before we have kids and that's something we'll hopefully be doing soon. Lewis is always telling me that I'd be a really good mom and I know he'd be a great dad. I love kids and I'm feeling broody."
The pop beauty - who recently appeared as a guest judge on Simon Cowell's pop star search show 'The X Factor' - admits she and 25-year-old Lewis are so happy together people can find them a bit "sickly".
She said in an interview with Now magazine: "He organised a weekend to Paris a couple of years ago. We walked around holding hands and had candlelit dinners. It's probably kind of sickly if you were looking at us but it was so romantic."
According to Nicole, Lewis is so smitten with her he often travels across the globe after a race to see her for just one night.
She revealed: "He's really sweet - he'll fly halfway across the world to see me perform for just one night, then fly back again to where he needs to be."

George Michael is spending his jail time playing pool
The 'Faith' singer ' who is serving a custodial sentence for driving under the influence of drugs and possession of cannabis ' is said to be taking on other inmates at the popular game at Highpoint Prison in Suffolk, East England, where he was moved last Friday (17.09.10) from London's tough Pentonville Prison.
George, 47, has his own cell on the good behaviour wing at the facility, and is mixing with the other prisoners - in contrast to his time at Pentonville where he spent most of his time in his cell and frequently broke down in tears.
Amanda Hunt, who was visiting another inmate at Highpoint Prison, told The Sun newspaper: 'He looks quite slim and old ' but everyone says he seems friendly. I don't think anyone is giving him a hard time.
Prisoner Steve Dench added: 'He's pretty good at pool.'
However, other inmates are said to be upset that George has his own cell at the low security prison, where most other people have to share, and claim he is receiving preferential treatment.
George will serve four weeks of his eight-week sentence in custody, followed by another four weeks supervised by the probation service.

Stereophonics to reissue first two albums
Stereophonics are set to re-issue their first two albums 1997's 'Word Gets Around' and 1999's Number One album 'Performance and Cocktails' and to celebrate will be performing them in full at two very special shows at London's Hammersmith Apollo.
The gigs will take place on October 17th and 18th and will mark the release of reissues of the albums on October 18th, which will come complete with reams of bonus material.
Frontman Kelly Jones said 't's over ten years since the first two albums were released. Listening back to them and all the b-sides and live tracks brought back a lot of memories. It's taken over a year to find and compile all the tracks, pictures and notebooks, Stuart's passing in June has made the whole experience more poignant. To celebrate the albums we will be playing two nights at Hammersmith Apollo playing every track and a selection of B-sides, something we have never done in a live experience. There's a lot to learn but it's gonna be rocking!'
Each of the reissues will come in two formats; a standard 2CD deluxe edition and a limited edition super deluxe 3CD boxset.
The deluxe edition will feature the original album on disc one, while disc two will feature the band's favourite b-sides from the album, plus rarities, previously unreleased live tracks and, on 'Word Gets Around', very early demos from before the debut album recording sessions.
The lavishly packaged super deluxe 3CD box set will contain the original album, a disc featuring b-sides from the album and a third rarities disc comprising unreleased live tracks, demos and sessions. The packaging will include a book styled on Kelly Jones' notebooks, containing handwritten lyrics and unseen photos.

Lily Allen has been working on her fashion venture whilst 'puking' in bed with morning sickness
The 'Smile' singer ' who is four months pregnant with her first child - is determined to make her new vintage clothes shop Lucy in Disguise a huge success and has even been sorting through potential sale items while curled up in bed unwell with nausea.
Lily's sister Sarah Owen ' who is running the store with her sibling -told BANG Showbiz: "Lily's been able to be puking from her bed from morning sickness, saying 'I like that one, I like that one.' But I think it's working out well. She'll split her time when she has the baby."
The 25-year-old pop star ' who is the company's creative director ' and her boyfriend Sam Cooper partied with friends at the store's preview night in London's Covent Garden last night (16.09.10), in conjunction with the launch of PlayStation Move.
Sarah ' who is the managing director of Lucy in Disguise - was initially worried the shop would be too much for Lily to handle alongside her pregnancy, but now believes it will help her sister prepare for motherhood.
She explained: "I am excited about becoming an auntie, but originally I was like, 'Wow, OK, we've just started this new business, and you're now pregnant. What does that mean?' But actually, it's worked out really well because it has made Lily really think about finances, because she's thinking for two now. She was quite spend-happy before. It's also helped us to define our roles in the business, because we really didn't know what we were doing at the beginning."
Lily glowed as she laughed and joked with pals including La Roux singer Elly Jackson, Professor Green and The Saturdays stars Vanessa White and Frankie Sandford as they browsed the rails and played on the new PlayStation Move.

Vanessa Hudgens finds Zac Efron's beard too itchy when they kiss
The 'Charlie St. Cloud' actor is presently sporting new facial hair, but says it hasn't been such a big hit with girlfriend Vanessa, as he's always scratching her face.
When asked about his beard at the premiere of 'Charlie St. Cloud' in London's Leicester Square last night (16.09.10), Zac said: "Well Vanessa finds it very itchy when I kiss her."
Modest Zac, 22, also admitted he doesn't feel his facial fuzz quite matches up to that grown by 'Twilight' heartthrob Robert Pattinson, who recently cultivated a more rugged look ahead of taking a road trip across the US.
When asked whose mane was thicker, Zac told BANG Showbiz: "Probably Rob's."
Zac also told of his desire to work alongside more British actors, saying he'd sign up to star alongside "anyone from RocknRolla" - Guy Ritchie's 2008 gangster film featuring Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton, Tom Wilkinson and Tom Hardy - in a heartbeat.
Augustus Prew - Zac's co-star in 'Charlie St. Cloud'- said he got the opportunity to spend some time with the former 'High School Musical' actor and Vanessa when making the film in Canada, and they appeared very much in love.
He said: "We were up filming in Vancouver, and Vanessa was also in British Columbia shooting 'Sucker Punch', so she came over and my girlfriend was there too, and we all hung out.
"Zac and Vanessa are the sweetest couple, they are so in love."
'Charlie St. Cloud' is released across Europe at the beginning of October.

Charlatans frontman collaborates with Klaxons, Ladyhawke and Horrors
Tim Burgess, singer for UK britpoppers The Charlatans, plans a new solo album with an all-star band.
Burgess told SpinnerMusic that he's been working on his new album with Horrors guitarist Josh Hayward and Klaxons drummer Stefan Halperin.
He said, 'Right now we can only do stuff when our other bands aren't doing things, but when we do get together, it's really explosive and it'll be well worth waiting for.'
Burgess has also enlisted Ladyhawke, which, he said, will give the album a 'New Zealand twist.'
The album, likely to be released next year, is Burgess' second solo effort following 2003's I Believe.
He said the new effort will definitely be different from I Believe, 'because I made that with session musicians from Los Angeles and this is being made with people from New Zealand and London.'

Carrie Underwood became a vegetarian for her pets
The country singer grew up on a farm with lots of animals and decided when she was just 13 she didn't want to feast on meat because she couldn't stand the thought of the animals being killed.
She said: ''m a vegetarian because I love animals. I grew up on a farm and they were all my pets! So the thought of me or someone else eating my pets kind of freaked me out at a young age."
Carrie admits she is obsessed with staying healthy because she wants to live a long and healthy life and is paranoid about damaging her body with bad food.
She added to the new issue of Women's Health magazine: ''m the most normal person in the universe, but I'm very health conscious. I love working out. I love taking care of myself. We only have one body apiece and it's going to expire sometime, and I'm going to make sure it's a long, long time from now."
The 27-year-old actress has twice been named the World's Sexiest Vegetarian by PETA and is such an ardent supporter of animal rights she once said: 'f you told me I could never sing again, I'd say that was horrible, but it's not my life. If you told me I could never be around animals again, I would just die."

Eminem had to learn to rap again after overcoming drug addiction
The 'We Made You' hitmaker ' who sought help for a dependency to prescription medications after overdosing in December 2007 ' felt 'born again' after successfully overcoming his substance abuse problem.
He said: 'When I got clean and sober, it was like I was a kid again. Not to sound corny, I felt like I was born again. I had to learn my writing skills. I was relearning how to rap. I didn't know if my MC skills were intact.
' actually had to learn how to say my lyrics again - how to phrase them, make them flow, how to use force so they sounded like I meant them. Rapping wasn't like riding a bike. It was as much physical as mental. I was relearning basic motor skills. I couldn't control my hand shakes. I'd get in the recording booth and tried to rap, and none of it was clever and I wasn't saying it right.'
The 37-year-old star ' whose real name is Marshall Mathers ' has also opened up about how his drug use affected his creativity, admitting he felt like he was 'frying' his brain.
He added to the New York Post newspaper: 'They stifled me. I don't know if I was frying brain cells or what, but I couldn't think. The drugs also made me lazy.
' was lazy about everything. I'd get high and say, 'F**k writing rhymes. I wanna sit down, watch some TV and eat nachos - and watch more TV.''
Meanwhile, Eminem's mother Debbie Nelson is releasing a book about her tumultuous relationship with the 'Not Afraid' star.
Debbie insists the tome will reveal the truth about the hip-hop star's childhood instead of just his negative version of events.
She writes: ' wasn't happy when he made up a whole new life for himself - what mother wants to be known as a pill-popping alcoholic who lives on welfare?
"To tell the truth, I was heartbroken. The lies started coming thick and fast - and not just from Marshall. I think he's forgotten the good times we had, and this book is my way of setting the record straight."
'My Son Marshall, My Son Eminem' will go on sale in November.

Julio Iglesias marriage has helped him to focus on the future
The 66-year-old singer ' who tied the knot with partner of 20 years Miranda Rijinsburger last month' said the couple's intimate union in Marbella was the 'culmination of many years of love'.
He said: 't's the culmination of many years of love, mutual understanding, affection and unconditional support, a relationship that has brought us five children who are our very soul. If Miranda hadn't come into my life, my mind wouldn't be as focused on the future as it is right now ' it would be focused on the present, and very likely, more and more in the past.
'When you have five kids, the future ' their future ' automatically becomes your focal point. And that makes you always look forward.'
The couple ' whose children Miguel, 13, Rodrigo, 11, nine-year-old twins Cristina and Victoria, and three-year-old Guillermo made up five of the seven guests at the wedding ' decided to wait to walk down the aisle until their offspring were old enough to understand what was going on.
Julio explained: 'They are thrilled. Now that they're older, they understood perfectly what the day meant and were very moved by it. And we were very moved by it, too, sharing such a special moment with them.'

The Ting Tings used vocals for keyboards after studio malfunction
The Ting Tings made their own synth sounds with their mouths after their keyboards broke while recording their new album.
The 'That's Not My Name' group ' made up of Katie White and Jules De Martino ' exiled themselves to Berlin to write and record their second album, and said not even faulty equipment could stand in the way of them getting their ideas recorded.
Jules exclusively told BANG Showbiz: 'We were recording some synthesisers and they weren't working, so we just making the synth noises out of our vocals, just kind of going 'brrrp'.'
The duo used some unorthodox methods of playing their instruments in order to create distinctive sounds for the record.
Jules explained: 'We played guitars with sanded down drum sticks so they had rough edges and played guitar sounds on drumsticks, but stuff like that we do anyway.
'We also had a load of keyboards we'd collected through our travels, which made this album a little more synth-based than the first record; that had an influence on the sound.'
Katie, 27, said the band's as-yet-untitled follow up to debut 'We Started Nothing' has surprised all of the people she's played it to, particularly because of her singing.
She added: 'People we play it to are so shocked, and then they love it. Everybody thought I just shouted 'That's Not My Name' permanently, but I can sing as well I just chose not to on that track.'
The Ting Tings' new single, 'Hands', will be released on October 11.

Lady Gaga compares herself to Queen, Bowie and Madonna
Lady Gaga has compared herself to Queen, David Bowie and Madonna in her Undercover Interview but says it is not for the music, it is for the theatrics.
' do have a lot in common with them and what I have in common with David Bowie and with Queen and with Prince and with Madonna is the way that I combine theatrics and the visual in all of my performance. The fashion and the imagery and what I am trying to say as an artist goes much further beyond the music,' she tells Tim Cashmere at Undercover.com.au.
Gaga says it is about reinventing the past and making it part of your own. ' don't like when bands compare themselves to artists from the past and try to mimic them and their music and it sounds like a copycat,' she tells Undercover. 'The intention for not me is to sound just like Bowie or Madonna or Prince. It is to full references from all of these different people and create something fresh and new and futuristic and pop and different.'
Lady Gaga says she understands why people think she is really a man. ' do sing more like a guy than like a girl so all of those male references that I am pulling, you can hear it in my voice'.

Managing Director Ian Green, of Greentrax Recordings, is proud to announce that the highly respected Edinburgh publisher, Luath Press Ltd., is to publish Ian's autobiography - "FUZZ TO FOLK ' TRAX OF MY LIFE" ' in November 2010, with an official release date of January 2011, which will be the 25th Anniversary of Greentrax Recordings.
The book contains some 120,000 words and Ian jokes that 'he didn't realise he knew that many'! The book will also include many photos and other interesting images spanning Ian's busy life from birth on the 29th January, 1934, in Forres, Morayshire to the present day, managing Greentrax Recordings Ltd. in Cockenzie, East Lothian.
The autobiography tells of Ian's life in many locations in rural Morayshire, including life under a disciplinarian schoolteacher who was not afraid to use the 'tawse' on his pupils on a daily basis. His constantly interrupted education finished at Tynecastle Secondary School, Edinburgh, and thereafter Ian became an apprentice gardener under his father at the Convent of The Sacred Hear/Craiglockhart Training College, Edinburgh.
Ian describes sporting success in cycle speedway before signing on for three years in the Army where he served as a motor mechanic in the REME, spending almost two years in Korea and Japan. On being demobbed with the rank of full corporal, Ian had yet another career change and joined Edinburgh City Police, later to become Lothian and Borders Police, where Ian had a distinguished career.
After thirty years' service Ian retired as a police inspector and having spent a lot of energy on Scottish traditional music during those years, it seemed logical for Ian to embark on a career in the music business. In 1986 he launched Greentrax Recordings which has become one of the most successful independent record labels in the United Kingdom, specialising in Scottish traditional music.
During his police years Ian married June and brought up a family of three, yet found time to represent Scotland in the annual Angling International against England, Ireland and Wales; grow prize-winning chrysanthemums and brew and ferment award-winning beers and wines respectively.
Many awards have been bestowed on Greentrax and Ian himself, including the Hamish Henderson Award for Services To Traditional Music, plus entry into The Hall of Fame, at the Scots Trad Awards, culminating with an Honorary Doctorate from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Ian and the work of Greentrax was also the subject of an STV documentary.
Ian continues to enjoy managing Greentrax Recordings, despite attaining the age of 76 years in 2010 and has no plans for retirement.

Sharon Osbourne found it a struggle fitting into English society
Sharon Osbourne said she was treated like she 'had fangs' when she tried to fit into normal society.
The 57-year-old star admits she struggled to bond with other parents when she tried to get involved with life at the English school where Aimee, Kelly and Jack ' her three children with husband Ozzy Osbourne ' were taught in the early 1980s.
She said: 'All the mothers there would look at me like I was an oddball. Like I had fangs.
'They'd say, 'We're having a coffee morning, bring a cake'. I would go to the supermarket and buy a fruit cake. And I would stick out like a sore thumb.'
She also admitted she doesn't 'get on' with many women because she doesn't cook.
Sharon ' who is currently a judge on US TV show 'America's Got Talent' ' has been offered the chance to star on a new all-women talk show, but finds such shows difficult, because she can't always connect with the women on them.
She said of the prospective new show: ' don't really think I get on with the women that well.'
Referring to similar US show 'The View' she added: 'God the women on 'The View' are such boring old tarts. Dried up old b*****s. I could never be really good on a show with women because I don't cook.'

Lady Gaga's friend says she changed when fame struck
The eccentric singer ' who is known to carry a tea cup with her at all times, and has promised to never be seen without high heels ' amazed her friends when her down-to-earth nature suddenly changed when she found fame.
Her friend, transsexual Amanda Lepore ' who noted the change when she joined her for a plate of spaghetti at her boyfriend Speedy's home - said: 'She was super nice and down-to-earth. She was like, 'Oh, Gaga would do this,' 'Gaga that.' But not like it was her, like it was a third person.
' think she crossed that boundary.'
Friends of he 'Poker Face' hitmaker also claim she cultivated her eccentric image and bizarre sense of style to hide the fact she is not classically good looking.
Her pal Wendy Starland ' who used to work for the singer ' added in Maureen Callahan's new biography Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga' : ' said we can do something theatrical so it's not the attention on her looks. She talked about it too. She was like, 'I know my look is untraditional and I'm not a classic beauty. We have to do other things.'

ELO founder killed by bale of hay in freak accident
Cellist Mike Edwards, a founding member of Electric Light Orchestra, lost his life in a freak accident.
AAP report that Edwards was killed by a 600kg bale of hay that rolled down a steep hill in a Devonshire field before crashing into the van he was driving in the English countryside.
Police say the 62-year-old musician died instantly on impact.
Sargeant Steve Walker told AAP, 'We have used photographs and YouTube footage to identify him but we now need help contacting his family for formal identification.'
Edwards was one of two original cellists for the band, playing live with them from 1972 until 1975.
He played on four albums, including their breakthrough hit Eldorado, A Symphony.
He reportedly left the orchestral rock pioneers to immerse himself in Buddhism, changing his name to Deva Pramada, and making a living by teaching cello.
Police are investigating the accident.

Kanye West offers to write song for Taylor Swift
Kanye West has offered to write a song for Taylor Swift and renewed his apology to the country singer via Twitter.
Over Twitter he said ' wrote a song for Taylor Swift that's so beautiful and I want her to have it. If she won't take it then I'll perform it for her.'
His apology to Swift seemed to stem more from him feeling like a jerk, rather than any genuine remorse for making her feel bad. He said 'With the help of strong will, a lack of empathy, a little alcohol and extremely distasteful and bad timing I became George Bush overnight.
'Remember in 'Anchorman' when Ron Burgundy cursed on air and the entire city turned on him? But this wasn't a joke. This was and is my real life.'
He also said 'Taylor loves rap music... I love country music,' and said that he uses country and broadway tunes as a benchmark for his own songs.
's this melody [of his own song] good enough to be a country song or a broadway song?' he said.
In a more serious moment, West said ' want to win there hearts back so I can continue to bring my take on culture to the masses with a clean opinion. It starts with this: I'm sorry Taylor.' [NB: grammar cleaned up for ease of reading.]
West is talking about the incident on September 13, 2009 at the MTV Video Music Awards where he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech to say that Beyonce should have won the 'Video Of The Year' award for her 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' clip, announcing it to be one of 'the best videos of all time.'
On November 2, 2006 he also jumped on stage to interrupt Justice and Simian at the MTV Europe Music Awards where he claimed he should have won the award for his own video to 'Touch The Sky'.
After the Taylor Swift incident, President Barack Obama called West a 'jackass'.

Maximo Park's Paul Smith announces UK tour and debut single
Paul Smith of Maximo Park will release 'Our Lady of Lourdes' on 1st November, the first single from his debut solo album 'Margins'. The single will be released on 7' vinyl (with b-side 'Loop for Becca') and download (with a version of 'A Little Lost' by Arthur Russell).
Written and recorded in less than 24 hours, Our Lady of Lourdes has a propulsive beat, lush echoing guitars and dream-like melodies. 'The song is like a short story describing a sign language conversation. It also touches on how religion provides comfort to those who need it', explains Smith of the mysterious lyrics. It's one of the more electric songs on a record that also finds Smith exploring his love of acoustic and experimental sounds.
Margins is released on 11th October on Billingham Records, run by Smith, the label on which Maximo Park's first ever red vinyl was released. The album is a collection of personal and intimate self-penned songs recorded with friend and co-producer Andy Hodson (The Matinee Orchestra/Warm Digits) at Hodson's home in Newcastle over the past four years. Field Music's David Brewis plays bass on the record. Maximo Park, together with Smith, are currently writing new material.
Smith, accompanied by a band, will take to the road in November. He says ''ve been waiting to play these songs live for a while now so that should ensure an excitable performance although the songs will require a different execution to those of Maximo Park; less frenetic movement but no less emotion or commitment.'

Sex Pistols perfume to be released
It seems that the Sex Pistols are set to release their own perfume.
The scent is made by Etat Libre D'Orange and will offer the wearer "the spirit of punk in a bottle", say the creators.
The press release continues: "To wear this scent, you must resist tradition, fight conformity, and disregard aromatic conventions. In the spirit of punk, you must be willing to express yourself with abandon. You take risks and you wouldn't be adverse to creating a little mayhem."
The perfume is due to arrive in the UK soon.
The next step in the Sex Pistol's quest for cleanliness is soap, with the band set to release bars of 'Never Mind the Bollocks' branded soap, and a second perfume, next year.

Leona Lewis rarely spoke to her support act on tour
The 'Bleeding Love' hitmaker was joined at 20 of her 'Labyrinth' shows by 'Defender' singer Gabriella Cilmi, and while the teenage star was excited to be on the road with Leona, she admits they had very little contact.
Gabriella exclusively told BANG Showbiz: 't was very fun, but I didn't really see Leona that much, although she did give me a little letter before we started the tour, saying, 'It was a pleasure to share a stage with you.'
' met her. well, I bumped into her a couple of times but she had so much press and promotional stuff to do.
'But it was cool because I got to play four nights at The O2 Arena in London, and there were massive crowds which were pretty much full when I was on stage. So that was pretty cool.'
While Gabriella, 18, insists she admires Leona ' who is a strict vegetarian - she doesn't share her tastes in catering.
Gabriella - who has opened nominations for the vinspired National Awards to celebrate and recognise young volunteers for the inspirational work they do - added: 'The Leona tour was great, but the only problem was the catering ' they only had vegetarian food, whereas I like to eat meat. So it wasn't great for me.'

Kelly Osbourne hates being compared to other celebrity daughters
The presenter ' who shot to fame after appearing alongside parents Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne in reality TV show 'The Osbournes' ' revealed being put in the same category as the offspring of other stars makes her 'feel sick'.
She explained: ' think for me it's just about not being classified as a 'celeb daughter'. A lot of them make me sick ' so many of them walk around with such a bratty sense of entitlement, and then people start thinking that all celebrity children are like that.
'So I hate being lumped in with that crowd of girls.'
The 25-year-old star ' who recently split with fiance Luke Worrall amid rumours he had cheated on her ' thinks having famous parents has caused her problems, as her heritage makes it difficult for her to achieve anything on her own.
She explained: 'When you're in this position, it's easy to be lazy and live off your parents, but it makes it hard for me to do something with my life, because I'm judged whatever I do.
'Anytime I achieve anything on my own, people will automatically assume it's because of my parents. I'm not victimising myself because life is hard in general and I know that I do have a fantastic one.'

Tom Meighan is a great actor
The Kasabian frontman - who previously turned down a role as a count in the Sofia Coppola-directed 'Marie Antoinette' because of his commitments to the group - will one day amaze everyone with his on-screen prowess, claims his bandmate Serge Pizzorno.
The group's guitarist, Serge Pizzorno, reckons Tom will one day surprise everyone with his acting ability, though to date he has only been offered one film role, which he had to turn down to concentrate on the group.
Of Tom's proposed role in 'Marie Antoinette', Serge said: "It is true, they wanted him to play the role. It was pretty mental. I think we'll definitely see Tom in something one day.
"He's the sort of person who'll win an Oscar one day and you'll be like, 'What?' He's great at that stuff."
Tom may have to put his film career off for a time yet, however, as he recently said he thinks Kasabian are about to peak and will be around for some time to come.
He said: "The best thing is about our band, is that we get to make a fourth album, and I think the fourth album will be our peak, and I think we'll be around for another ten or fifteen, years, we'll be around for a while."

Lady Gaga says taking drugs inspired her music
The 'Poker Face' singer began using illegal substances after she dropped out of a music course at New York University in 2005, and she insists getting high helped her creativity.
The 24-year-old pop star said: '[Using drugs] I really figured out the art I wanted to make and was inspired. Some people find inspiration in dark places. I guess I'm one of them.
'What always made me different is that if I was doing drugs I was also making music. I wasn't just doing drugs.'
The eccentric singer - real name Stefani Germanotta - also revealed her mother Cynthia didn't understand why she felt she needed to take drugs and was confused by her early performances.
She told Q magazine: 'At the beginning I was doing performance art in handmade leather and leopard bikinis talking about oral sex and Andy Warhol and heavy metal. My mom was like, 'You've lost your mind.' I was doing drugs, I was really out of control. But I never got so far into it that I overdosed or anything.'
However, Gaga is adamant she doesn't need drugs anymore and has toned down her wild lifestyle.
She explained: 'Once you open those doors they're open for ever. People who say they need [drugs] to be creative are full of s**t. I'm not some chick on the road getting high and f***ed up every night. I wake up, drink coffee and get on the phone to talk about the creative direction of the next video.'
The singer caused a furore recently when she admitted in a magazine interview she occasionally took cocaine.
She said: ' won't lie; it's occasional. And when I say occasional, I mean maybe a couple of times a year.'

Tinchy Stryder believes girls are more obsessed with sex than men
Even though guys can't seem to stop speaking about their bedroom antics, the rapper is adamant women are always thinking about lovemaking.
He said: 'Guys speak freely about sex with their mates and no one is bothered, but girls feel it's wrong to talk about it, like it's naughty. I think it's on their minds all the time.'
Although Tinchy believes ladies have sex on the brain, when it comes to relationships he says women need to trust their men more than they need to lust after them
He added to more! magazine: 'n a relationship, trust always comes first. A girl needs to trust a guy, then sex, then romance. I can always tell what girls are pure from the first time I meet someone. Some girls are only interested in the fame, but I can always work them out.'

Mike Peters and Glen Tilbrook climb Mt. Fuji for rock n roll cancer charity
Mike Peters of 'The Alarm,' Donavon Frankenreiter and Matt Grundy, Glenn Tilbrook of 'Squeeze,' and Australian rocker Brien McVernon team with LoveHopeStrength.org
A collaboration of all -star musicians from around the globe are banding together for an epic musical pilgrimage to the summit of Mt. Fuji in conjunction with the Love Hope Strength (LHS) foundation, the world's largest rock n' roll cancer charity.
Leading a group of thirty cancer survivors and supporters from four continents will be Mike Peters, front man for popular Welsh band, The Alarm, Glenn Tilbrook, lead singer of internationally renowned band, Squeeze, wildly popular American pro surfer and singer-songwriter Donavon Frankenreiter and his band mate Matt Grundy, and Brien McVernon, lead singer of the Retro Rockets, a favorite in their native Australia.
The journey, taking place August 21 ' 29, will raise money and support for the international bone marrow donor registry and LHS's efforts to help people everywhere ' regardless of economic status or location ' gain access to life saving treatments. The trekkers will begin at The Fuji Sengen Shrine, where the pilgrims of over 500 years ago came to pray before they started their climb up the sacred mountain. After a two-day journey on foot, the hike will culminate with a musical ceremony at the summit. The trek will be followed by a voyage to Fuji Yoshida for the Fire Festival or 'Yoshida no Himatsuri,' an annual festival held to appease the Goddess of Mt. Fuji and mark the end of the hiking season. To learn more about the details of the Mt. Fuji voyage, click here .
For LHS, this concert marks the fourth year in a row it has brought together musicians from all walks of life to hike a global landmark as inspiration to those affected by cancer and to help those in need. Previous musical pilgrimages include Mt. Everest in Nepal, the highest concert performed on land, Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, Machu Picchu in Peru, Mt. Snowdon in the U.K., the Empire State Building and for the previous two years, Pikes Peak in America. Each of the thirty hikers have made a commitment to raise money for the foundation's cause, and LHS expects to raise additional funds via its website and mobile giving.
For Mike Peters, a two-time cancer survivor and LHS co-founder, this journey will be his third in the last month and the tenth musical voyage he has led. Peters recently raised money for Welsh cancer centers by leading the fourth annual hike of Mt. Snowdon in the U.K and a special hike and concert in the Rhondda Valley in mid-August. Also making a repeat performance to show solidarity in the fight against cancer are Glenn Tilbrook and Brien McVernon. The Squeeze front man has journeyed with LHS to Mt. Everest and Mt. Kilimanjaro while McVernon has been to three of four annual pilgrimages.
'Cancer is now the world's leading cause of death. This event, like others before, will drum up funds to fight the disease with something tangible and hopefully produce inspiration to many people touched by cancer,' said Mike Peters. 'The deep spiritual virtues of Mt. Fuji and the warm, wonderful Japanese culture provide an incredible setting for this journey. We are at once thankful to the Japanese people for welcoming us and excited to wave the prayer flags on peak in a tribute to the love, hope and strength we have for all those who must endure cancer in one form or another.'
"Every one on earth has been affected by cancer in one way or another so it's an honor to be part of a cause that is doing something very tangible to fight this disease. I'm really excited to hike and play music and in the process help bring awareness to everyone about the importance of bone marrow donation" said Donavon Frankenreiter.

Ted Nugent fined for violating hunting laws
Ted Nugent, the man everyone loves to hate publicly but can't deny The Amboy Dukes were an awesome band, has been fined for violating hunting laws.
The 61 year old singer has been slapped with a $US1,750 ($AU1950) fine for failing to get a 'deer tag' signed by a government official after a kill and illegally baiting a deer.
The Nuge pleaded no contest to both misdemeanors. He was busted by California Game Wardens after the singer's TV show 'Spirit Of The Wild' showed footage of him committing the crimes.
'We looked at it and we just shook our heads, saying 'I can't believe he actually aired this episode,'" Department of Fish and Game spokesman Patrick Foy told The Sacramento Bee. 'We were all really disappointed to see this happen with a guy who is a representative of hunters.'
As I said before, everyone loves to hate the Nuge, but man the guy can play guitar:

Justin Bieber wants David Beckham to give him soccer lessons
The 16-year-old singer has offered the sportsman ' who has sons Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, seven, and Cruz, five, with wife Victoria Beckham ' a private concert in exchange for some tuition in ball control.
He told The Sun newspaper: "I am sure he would do anything to make his three boys happy and if I am their favourite artist I would happily come and put on a private show at the Beckham household.
"All I would ask for in return is that we go into his yard for an hour afterwards and he teaches me all those crazy things he can do with a soccer ball."
As well as seeking guidance from David, Justin ' who is mentored by Usher ' recently revealed he would like lessons in love from Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry.
He said: 'Maybe they could coach me and tell me how to work out which girls are the good ones. That would be pretty awesome. I would like to invite the two of them out for dinner so they can tell me the best way to win a woman like them.'

Peter Andre has an amicable relationship with Katie Price
The 'Behind Closed Doors' singer ' who has children Junior, five, and Princess Tiaamii, three, with the glamour model ' is relieved he is no longer on bad terms with his former spouse and they are now able to be civil to one another for the sake of their two kids and Harvey, Katie's eight-year-old son from a previous relationship.
He said: 'After flying back from our trip to Australia, I dropped the kids off at Katie's on the way home from the airport and it was really nice as I got to hang out with Harvey while Kate caught up with Junior and Princess. He was showing me all the drawings he's been doing ' he's really got into it lately.
'Things are amicable between Kate and me at the moment and I'm really keen to keep it this way for the sake of the children. It's weird having been with the kids solidly for three weeks and now not seeing them for another three, but that's the deal and we have to share them.'
Peter also revealed his young son Junior has become a fan of teen pop sensation Justin Bieber - but he can't get his name right.
He wrote in his column for new! magazine: 'While we were in Australia, he really got into Justin Bieber, but he calls him Justin Beaver. I keep telling him that's not his name, but he won't have it.'
Katie and Peter separated in May 2009 and their divorce was finalised in October that year.
The brunette beauty is now married to cage fighter Alex Reid, while Peter is still single.
