Tim Burgess, singer for UK britpoppers The Charlatans, plans a new solo album with an all-star band.

Burgess told SpinnerMusic that he's been working on his new album with Horrors guitarist Josh Hayward and Klaxons drummer Stefan Halperin.

He said, 'Right now we can only do stuff when our other bands aren't doing things, but when we do get together, it's really explosive and it'll be well worth waiting for.'

Burgess has also enlisted Ladyhawke, which, he said, will give the album a 'New Zealand twist.'

The album, likely to be released next year, is Burgess' second solo effort following 2003's I Believe.

He said the new effort will definitely be different from I Believe, 'because I made that with session musicians from Los Angeles and this is being made with people from New Zealand and London.'
