Kanye West has offered to write a song for Taylor Swift and renewed his apology to the country singer via Twitter.

Over Twitter he said ' wrote a song for Taylor Swift that's so beautiful and I want her to have it. If she won't take it then I'll perform it for her.'

His apology to Swift seemed to stem more from him feeling like a jerk, rather than any genuine remorse for making her feel bad. He said 'With the help of strong will, a lack of empathy, a little alcohol and extremely distasteful and bad timing I became George Bush overnight.

'Remember in 'Anchorman' when Ron Burgundy cursed on air and the entire city turned on him? But this wasn't a joke. This was and is my real life.'

He also said 'Taylor loves rap music... I love country music,' and said that he uses country and broadway tunes as a benchmark for his own songs.

's this melody [of his own song] good enough to be a country song or a broadway song?' he said.

In a more serious moment, West said ' want to win there hearts back so I can continue to bring my take on culture to the masses with a clean opinion. It starts with this: I'm sorry Taylor.' [NB: grammar cleaned up for ease of reading.]

West is talking about the incident on September 13, 2009 at the MTV Video Music Awards where he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech to say that Beyonce should have won the 'Video Of The Year' award for her 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' clip, announcing it to be one of 'the best videos of all time.'

On November 2, 2006 he also jumped on stage to interrupt Justice and Simian at the MTV Europe Music Awards where he claimed he should have won the award for his own video to 'Touch The Sky'.

After the Taylor Swift incident, President Barack Obama called West a 'jackass'.
