Jay-Z asked to Jackson tribute

Email this story Printable version Stars including Jay-Z, Justin Bieber and Kanye West have been invited to perform at a Michael Jackson tribute concert. The late pop superstar's mother Katherine and siblings La Toya, Tito, Jackie and Marlon recently announced a show will be held in the UK later this year. Katherine has reportedly personally approached a host of big names to appear at the event, but is still waiting to hear if they have accepted. 'Sources connected to the concert tell us... Jay-Z, Kanye West, Cee Lo, Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, Christina Aguilera, Usher and Bruno Mars have each received an invitation from Katherine Jackson... asking them to perform 1 or 2 of their favourite MJ songs,' reports TMZ. The website claims Bieber, Mars and Brown have so far 'respectfully declined' the invite. However, Cee Lo is believed to have agreed to take part. Katherine has reportedly promised to provide each act with 'first class travel and accommodation' if they appear at the show. Tickets for the event are yet to go on sale, with promoters saying they will be made available once the line-up is confirmed. The show is scheduled to take place in Cardiff, Wales, on October 8. Meanwhile, Michael's kids have paid tribute to their father ' who passed away in June 2009 ' by unveiling his own artworks to the Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Prince Michael, 14, Paris, 13, and Blanket, nine, attended the private ceremony yesterday along with their grandmother Katherine. Brett-Livingstone Strong, a close friend of Michael's, revealed the music star would have been proud of the tribute. "He often dreamed of having an exhibit," Strong said. "I think that having his work in the Children's Hospital is such an honour."
