The superstar was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and admits she felt intimidated whenever she visited New York. However, the singer-and-actress is now happily settled in the city with her husband, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z. ' never thought I would live there because I found it so overwhelming, but now it's home,' she revealed to Marie Claire. Beyoncé also paid tribute to Adele while talking about her favourite things. Beyoncé used to watch the classic rags to riches musical when she was growing up and can't believe she is following in the footsteps of Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Janet Gaynor who have all appeared in previous remakes. 'My mother would put it on for me when I was young,' the star explained. 'So it's an honour to be in the remake with Clint Eastwood.' Clint will be directing the latest big screen adaption and Leonardo DiCaprio has been linked to the male lead ' playing a film star who helps Beyoncé's character find fame.
