Peter Hook and The Light joined by Moby And Perry Farrell in LA

Email this story Printable version Award winning electronic artist and long term Joy Division devotee, Moby on Weds 14th Sept joined Peter Hook And The Light on stage at The Music Box LA, guesting with Hooky and the band on three tracks on the second night of their North American tour. Moby appeared for a mid concert interlude to perform two tracks from 'Closer', the album with which The Light are touring the US, 'Colony' and 'A Means To An End' before returning with the band in the encore for a spirited and ferocious rendition of 'Transmission' Moby chose the tracks personally after requesting a guest list for the concert, and ever looking to get back onto the bass, Hooky asked him to 'sing for his supper'. The appearance was supposed to be kept top secret until Moby tweeted and facebooked his movements for this week last Thursday to two and half million followers. Given that Moby's appearance was announced prior to the concerts, a surprise was also in store for the audience when Jane's Addiction lead singer Perry Farrell joined the band to perform 'solation', returning to the same venue where he performed 'Transmission' with the band on their debut US tour last December. The Music Box show marks the first of two performances by Moby with The Light as he is set to join the band to sing songs from 'Unknown Pleasures' this Fri 16th Sept in LA at the El Rey Theatre. Hooky and Moby commented after the gig. ' love coming to Los Angeles and I'm thoroughly delighted that two great musicians, Moby and Perry Farrell, joined me and The Light for a great gig. I'm touched by their support and their respect for Joy Division which they showed by delivering fantastic performances as always. I suppose LA's not a lonely place after all.'
