The singer announced at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last weekend that she is expecting her first child with husband Jay-Z. Sources close to the couple say they are overjoyed at the prospect of starting a family and feel it is the 'perfect' time to have a baby. 'She and Jay also wanted to focus on their careers and enjoy the first years of their marriage,' a source told OK! magazine. 'Now, with everything so perfect in both those regards, she can't wait to be a mom.' A host of stars have expressed their delight following Beyoncé's announcement. Her Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams have both sent their well wishes, along with Rihanna and even Oprah Winfrey. 'Her phone hasn't stopped ringing,' the source added. 'She's received dozens of bouquets of flowers, teddy bears, fruit baskets, you name it.' The 29-year-old star has reduced her work schedule for the coming months, to ensure she has enough time to look after herself during the pregnancy. She is determined to remain stress free and enjoy the experience. It is rumoured Beyoncé and Jay-Z have asked Kanye West to be the baby's godfather. However, there is also speculation they are also considering their close friends Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.
