The 'American Idol' host recently met his 22-year-old girlfriend's family at a birthday party for her sister Katherine and is now keen to make a commitment in their relationship.
A source said: 'He's not afraid to take things to the next level. Everyone is shocked by how fast things are moving.'
Julianne is smitten with Ryan and loves his romantic ways, which included him recently paying for her entire hotel suite to be covered in orchids, pansies and roses.
The source told InTouch Weekly magazine: 'There were rose petals in the Jacuzzi, bouquets all over the floor, flowers on the coffee table, and petals all over her bed.
'The gesture was beautiful and made Julianne's heart melt.'
Last weekend, the couple made a rare public appearance, driving round Los Angeles in Ryan's Aston Martin convertible, before stopping for lunch at the Four Seasons Hotel's poolside Cabana restaurant.
One onlooker said: "It was warm and beautiful outside and the couple cruised with the top down on the car.
'Ryan and Julianne looked very happy together and even held hands in the car. Ryan was laughing and seemed very smitten with Julianne.
"Julianne didn't seem to mind that Ryan got attention in the restaurant, and instead acted supportive and waited by his side until he finished greeting his fans.'
