Will Young in comedy therapy

Will Young in comedy therapy

Will Young thought having therapy was like being in a comedy.

The 'Hopes and Fears’ singer struggled to cope with fame and, after fearing he was turning into a 'loony pop star', sought help from a therapist and embarked on a week-long course to boost his self-esteem.

He said: 'I had thought I was coping well with my job and being famous but I became scared of going out and meeting people. I was going into loony, reclusive-pop-star mode, which is very easy to do because you’re always busy and people tend to do what you want.

'I went on the course and stood up and said, 'Hi, I’m Will, I’m a pop star and I’m not very confident.’ It was like being in a comedy. But it was extremely valuable. I’m going on another one soon. I’m looking forward to it.'

Will now sees a therapist regularly and says he has learnt to boost his confidence by always trying to challenge himself and face his fears.

He added: 'At the risk of sounding like a self-help manual, it’s about fulfilling your potential. That’s surely what life’s about.

'There’s a part of me that so wants to be a recluse and not do anything that I push myself into mad situations just to prove to myself that I can do it.'

Jessica Simpson wants stimulation

Jessica Simpson wants stimulation

Jessica Simpson wants a man who can intellectually stimulate her.

The singer-and-actress – who famously got chicken confused with tuna – doesn’t want to get bored in a relationship so wants a guy with brains.

She said: "I don't want to get bored. I can bore out pretty easily, so I love intellectual men ... people that will always keep me intrigued."

The blonde beauty – who split from American footballer Tony Romo in July – also revealed she wants to be inspired by her next romance.

Jessica – who was previously married to Nick Lachey – said: "I definitely love a spiritual man – somebody that is going to always inspire me.

"I love artistic men – somebody that really understands their art. I like a confident man."

Jessica is currently travelling the world filming her new TV show 'The Price of Beauty’ and says it’s made her realise what she wants out of life.

She added to US TV show 'Extra’: "I couldn't have had this journey at a better time in my life, to seek out beauty, to seek out confidence and to seek out the power of a woman. It really is about who I am and what I want to become, and what's going to make the best version of myself."

The show sees Jessica jetting around the globe to see different interpretations of beauty.

Nicole Kidman terrified of singing

Nicole Kidman terrified of singing

Nicole Kidman is terrified of singing.

The 42-year-old star - who has previously released duets with her 'Moulin Rouge!' co-star Ewan McGregor and British singer Robbie Williams - insists she hates performing in front of people and had to be persuaded to sing in new musical movie 'Nine'.

She said: "I was terrified of it. I am not a natural singer in the sense that I don't love getting up in front of a group of people and just belting out a tune. It needs to be coaxed out of me because I want my voice to tell a story and sometimes it doesn't have the capacity to do that."

The actress felt particularly pressured because director Rob Marshall had told her he envisaged her appearing as a "goddess" in the movie.

She told Empire magazine: "When Rob approached me, he told me a role had been written especially. He told me he wanted her to look like a goddess and I was a little overwhelmed by that."

While Nicole was eventually persuaded to record her vocals, she has previously vowed never to sing with her husband, country music star Keith Urban.

She said: "We have our work, but most important is our life together, we don't want to blend the two."

Lostprophets 2010 tour dates

Lostprophets 2010 tour dates

After several sold out shows in the last couple of months, including electrifying performances headlining the Radio 1/NME Stage at the Reading and Leeds Festivals and a Q Awards show at the Forum, LOSTPROPHETS have announced a UK tour for next year. The band release their fourth album 'The Betrayed’ on 18th January 2010 which includes the top 20 single 'It’s Not The End of The World, But I Can See It From Here’.

The band who consist of guitarist Mike Lewis, frontman Ian Watkins, Lee Gaze (guitar), Stuart Richardson (bass), Jamie Oliver (keyboards, programming) and new drummer Luke Johnson will also return in November for a couple of shows including their debut appearance at the Little Noise Sessions. These gigs are held every year in the Union Chapel In London and curated by DJ Jo Whiley with acts as diverse as Editors, Alexandra Burke and Taio Cruz all set to appear this year. A very special show with a few surprises is planned.

'The Betrayed’ was recorded in several locations and studios in Los Angeles, with a few false starts where the band scrapped various recordings with different producers. Eventually, a trip back to their native Wales and original rehearsal rooms in Cardiff saw the group re-invigorated and energised and on their return to the US things came together quickly. Bassist Stuart Richardson took on production and mixing duties (alongside Justin Hopfer with whom he’d previously worked with on Welsh rock act Attack Attack) for the first time and the band have created their most ambitious and accomplished album to date.

The 19-year-old singer – who has reportedly been dating the 17-year-old actor after they met on set of their romantic comedy 'Valentine’s Day’ - took the 'Twilight’ hunk out for dinner with her mom Andrea Swift on Monday night, sparking rumours their relationship is getting serious.

She said: 'Are we an item? I don’t know. He’s an amazing guy and we’re really close. And, yep, were in a movie together and I’m really excited about seeing it.'

The songstress is so desperate to see herself looking loved-up with Taylor on the big screen, she has begged movie bosses to let them watch the an advanced version of the film in private.

She explained to CMT Radio host Cody Alan: "I haven't seen 'Valentine's Day’ at all. So hopefully we'll get to do a private screening because we both wanna see it so bad 'cause our scene was so much fun to do."

The blonde songstress recently admitted she was keen to start dating again following her split from Jonas Brothers singer Joe Jonas last October.

Taylor and Taylor were spotted together at a Los Angeles Kings hockey game last weekend.

She recently admitted: "I love him, he's so cute."

TINCHY STRYDER & CHIPMUNK

Team up with LittleBigPlanet on PSP!

Number 1 chart topping Tinchy Stryder and recent MOBO winning friend Chipmunk will be designing their very own levels for the hugely popular game LittleBigPlanet to be released on PlayStation® Portable (PSP) November 18th. The stars will join the likes of Scissor Sisters, Lily Allen, The Script, The Coral, The Horrors, Lil Chris and Daniel Merriweather in being asked to design levels for the game.

Tinchy and Chipmunk will be designing their LittleBigPlanet levels on their own PSPs whilst on tour together around the UK. Designing the level should come naturally to Tinchy who before topping the charts completed a degree in Digital Arts and Moving Image. Footage of them both designing their levels can be seen at www.youtube.com/littlebigplanetuk. The levels will be made available to download in the launch week of the game. Since the launch of LittleBigPlanet over a million levels have been created by fans of the game.

In a special addition the pop stars are also set to be immortalised by the creators of LittleBigPlanet when they are rendered as special sackboys – the LittleBigPlanet hero. The designs for the new sackboys will be picked via a special online competition LIVE NOW - where fans of the rappers and the game can upload their designs which will then be judged and adapted by Tinchy and Chipmunk. The final designs will then be created by the developers at Sony PlayStation.

Lady Gaga giving away her hair with new album

Lady Gaga giving away her hair with new album

Lady Gaga is giving away a lock of her hair with her new album.

The 'Paparazzi’ singer is preparing to release a deluxe version of her new album 'The Fame Monster’ as a special-edition art book next month with a number of bizarre gifts, including a piece of her blonde hair, a personal note from the songstress and a jigsaw puzzle.

The collector’s sets will also be filled with pictorials, posters, fanzines, paper dolls, 3D glasses and a behind-the-scenes look at her bizarre life.

As well as all the hits from the 2008 LP 'The Fame’, the updated album will feature eight new tracks, including 'Telephone’ – a duet with Beyonce Knowles.

Gaga is currently rehearsing hard for 'The Monster Ball Tour’, which will coincide with the updated LP.

She explained: "I’ve been training for two hours a day to get ready for this. I sing on the treadmill! I do cardio and weights on top of my rehearsals. I want to get my whole body in prime condition so I can carry the show."

The singer – who is known for her outrageous fashion choices and party lifestyle – also admitted she has tried hard to look 'interesting' while allowing her to grow in self confidence.

She explained to Canada’s Flare magazine: "Fashion saved my life. It was complete liberation, it made me feel powerful, ambitious and much more resilient.

"We all need an image that screams, 'I’m an individual!’ I think Jennifer Aniston is beautiful - she’s gorgeous - but I prefer to look interesting rather than pretty.'

'The Fame Monster’ is due for release in the US on November 24.
