Police ‘review Winehouse footage’

Email this story Printable version Police are reviewing 'tens of hours' of security camera footage as they try to piece together Amy Winehouse's final hours. The singer was found dead in her home in Camden, London, last month. She was 27 and a post-mortem was inconclusive so cause of death won't be known until toxicology tests return in a few weeks. Amy battled addictions to drink and drugs, but her family insist she was clean when she passed away. Her father Mitch says she gave up alcohol three weeks before she died, with the family believing she either had a seizure or heart attack. Mitch claims she was at home playing drums the evening prior to her death, but other people have said she was out in Camden. Police are now checking CCTV in an effort to find out the truth. 'There are enough cameras in the area to get a picture of her movements,' a source told British newspaper The Daily Mirror. 't's a painstaking operation which involves going through tens of hours of footage.' Shortly after Amy died a source claimed she'd bought drugs including ketamine and ecstasy the evening before her passing. Then earlier this week, Tony Azzopardi alleged she'd given him £1,200 to buy cocaine and heroin. He met with police for half an hour yesterday, and is due to be interviewed again today. Tony first made the claims in a newspaper, explaining he met the singer via her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil. He insists he spoke out so the star's family 'know the truth'. Mitch, his wife Jane and Amy's brother Alex have decided to take some time out from the spotlight to cope with her death. They are going abroad for ten days to deal with their loss with Amy's partner Reg Traviss ' who it's understood she was secretly engaged to ' also taking the trip. It coincides with a family wedding, and the group think getting out of the country is just what they need. 'The family feel they want to grieve properly out of the limelight,' a source told British newspaper The Sun. 'They will celebrate Amy's life and share their most treasured stories of her.' The group have been seen regularly at Amy's Camden home, where fans have constructed a shrine of candles, pictures, CDs and hand-written notes. Yesterday a portrait of the star measuring 8ft. square was placed there, and while the family love the tributes seeing them has proved tough. 'Being in Camden constantly is proving too painful for them. They need time to themselves,' the source explained. Amy's mother Janis will remain in the country. Jared Followill admits Kings of Leon have 'problems'

Email this story Printable version Jared Followill has admitted there are 'problems' in Kings of Leon. The American rock band, comprising of brothers Caleb, Nathan and Jared Followill and their cousin Matthew, have been hitting the headlines after a series of concerts were postponed and another was cancelled this weekend. Controversy was sparked on Friday when singer Caleb left the stage in Dallas with three songs still remaining to be played. "I'm trying to sing but I haven't got a voice, I've got nothing," he said at the time. The rockers then pulled out of a show in Houston, Texas, the following night. According to the band's representative Caleb was suffering from "heat exhaustion and dehydration' which had caused his "vocal chords to seize". Jared has expressed his fears about the band on social-networking site Twitter, hinting that the issues run deeper. "I know you guys aren't stupid. I can't lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade (sic)," he wrote. Kings of Leon have rescheduled their concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Texas for September. Meanwhile, their US tour is expected to continue in Tampa, Florida on August 2. Email this story Printable version The 'In Da Club' hitmaker has amassed a huge fortune through the success of his albums and burgeoning film career, and he insists the greatest thing about having wealth is it gives him freedom. He said: "I see money as a facilitator. If airlines don't have a plane that goes to where you want to go, a private jet will. If a studio doesn't go after a project and I think it's the right project for right now, I can go and get it made. I think that to some people I may appear a little off, but they're just not on the same page as me." The 36-year-old star is desperate to become a respected actor, and he stars in upcoming movie 'Things Fall Apart', in which he plays a promising American football player whose career is derailed when he is he diagnosed with cancer. But 50 ' who wrote and produced the film himself, and based it on a childhood experience - accepts he will have to work hard to shake off his bad boy rapper tag if he wants to be taken seriously as an actor. In an interview with The i newspaper, he revealed: "My first CD contained all of the dysfunctional behaviour that was affecting me. And you become you music to the general public, so I became exactly what the CD was in their eyes. Having it go on to become the widest-selling hip-hop album and sell 12 million CDs worldwide made it intense. So people have a perception of me that's going to be like that until I continue to be successful in other fields. Eventually that will open people's minds up so they think about me in different ways." Beyonce says God will decide when she has a baby

Email this story Printable version The 'Halo' singer has made no secret of the fact she would like to start a family with husband Jay-Z but she refuses to put any pressure on herself and will let nature take its course. The 29-year-old star - who always said she would have a baby at 30 - said: "I thought 30 was so old back then! You know, one day (it will happen). "That's something that God has to decide. When it happens, it happens. I'm just so happy to be in this place in my life." Beyonce recently took some time off from her hectic career and says she loved every minute of it because she got to watch Jay-Z perform as a fan. During an appearance on TV discussion show 'The View', she said of her schedule: "It was beginning to get fuzzy, I couldn't even tell which day or which city I was at. "I would sit there at awards shows and they would give me an award and I was just thinking about the next performance. I never really thought about how fortunate I was - it was onto the next project and the next day. "So I took some time off. I went to see museums, ballets, the Great Wall of China, the Louvre - everywhere I had been to but never got to see. I got the chance to see the (Jay-Z) shows in the audience, which I had never been able to do, so I was really inspired."
