Los Angeles (E! Online) – And Diana DeGarmo thought Simon Cowell was bad...

An Australian woman accused of cyber-stalking the American Idol runner-up has been denied bail by a Down Under judge.

Tanye Maree Quattrocchi, 23, was convicted of blackmailing and stalking DeGarmo in May 2007 and initially sentenced to community service, but the woman was locked up three months ago after hacking into DeGarmo's MySpace account a whopping 700 times between May 2008 and January, according to the Melbourne Herald Sun.

Quattrocchi had been hoping to get out for Easter. Her mother told the court she would quit her job and place her daughter under virtual house arrest to ensure she avoided the Internet and complied with the terms of her probation.

But the plea fell on deaf ears as Deputy Chief Magistrate Dan Muling ruled that it was highly likely Quattrocchi would continue to harass the Idol star and her family.

Quattrocchi will remain holed up in jail until her next hearing, set for May 11. A new trial is scheduled for October.

DeGarmo finished second in the third season of Fox's American Idol, losing out to Fantasia Barrino.
