Los Angeles (E! Online) – They're trying to make Amy Winehouse go to Norway, but will she go, go, go?
The "Rehab" songbird has been summoned to appear at a Norwegian appelate court hearing in January in connection with an October 18, 2007 drug arrest, according to the country's online newspaper Nettavisen.
Winehouse was on tour in the western Norway town of Bergen when she, hubby Blake Fielder-Civil and a member of her crew were busted for pot possession after police found less than a quarter of an ounce of marijuana in a hotel room.
After spending most of the night in custody, they paid a fine of $415 apiece to make the possession charge go away.
However, the 25-year-old chanteuse later appealed the fine, claiming police deceived her into signing a confessions.
Per Winehouse's camp, agreeing to the fine in Norway is essentially the same as pleading guilty. And that delayed her ability to get a U.S. visa application, forcing her to miss the 2008 Grammys, where she won five awards , forcing her to perform via satellite.
So Winehouse opted to fight. An initial court date was set for February 2008. Under Norwegian law, the appeal also required her to attend as well.
But that hearing was postponed at the request of her attorney due to Fielder-Civil's legal problems in the U.K. (He later wound up sentenced to prison in an assault case.
Winehouse, who's been in and out of the hospital and a drug-treatment center, is currently spending the holidays on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia.
