Boy George stocks up for arctic freeze

Boy George stocks up for arctic freeze

Boy George panic bought supplies to cope with the arctic weather that has hit the UK.

The 'Karma Chameleon’ singer made sure he was prepared for the heavy snowfall that has hit London in the last two days by stocking up on essential goods.

He tweeted: 'Hampstead is glorious, been to local shop for supplies, people are smiling. The snow is seriously heavy up on the hill in Hampstead. London is really in for it!'

Despite the sub-zero weather conditions, George wrapped up warm and headed out to have a meeting about his forthcoming new album.

He added on his twitter page: 'Meeting with record label going ahead, braving the snow for my art!'

George recently revealed his life had improved "100 per cent" since he gave up drugs.

The 48-year-old star - who was released from prison in May after serving four months of a 15-month sentence for assault and false imprisonment of a male escort - vowed never to touch illegal substances again after attending regular Narcotics Anonymous meetings.

He said: "I was like, I don't need it. I'm fine. I'd been to one in the 80s and I just thought they were all weirdos, which is a common get out clause for anyone in denial but I went to one.

"Since that day, my life has improved more than 100 per cent."

Michael Jackson’s death investigation completed

Michael Jackson’s death investigation completed

The investigation into Michael Jackson’s death has been completed.

The late pop legend – who died of acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009 – was last seen alive by his personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray, who is now likely to be criminally charged with Michael’s death in the next couple of weeks.

Detectives working on Michael’s death completed their investigation last month and the case will now be formally presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney.

A source told gossip website TMZ the investigation was "exhaustive" and 'extremely thorough' and there was enough evidence for a criminal case against Dr. Murray.

The case is particularly complicated because the doctor did not break any laws by administering Propofol to the 'Thriller’ singer but he could be charged with involuntary manslaughter, relating to gross negligence.

Dr. Murray – who did not have any criminal charges brought against him immediately after Jackson’s passing - has since returned to the Armstrong Medical Clinic in Houston, Texas, where he has been treating patients.

Red Hot Chili Peppers announce new guitarist

Red Hot Chili Peppers announce new guitarist

30-year old Los Angeles guitarist and producer Josh Klinghoffer is the replacement for John Frusciante in Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Klinghoffer was a member of short-lived L.A. experimental band Ataxia that also included Frusciante as well as Fugazi bass player Joe Lally. Klinghoffer was the drummer in that band.

He has played as a session musician over the years with Beck, Butthole Surfers, PJ Harvey, Gnarls Barkley and the Chili Peppers.

He also worked on Frusciante’s solo albums so he is a well-qualified replacement in the Chili Peppers.

John Frisciante left Red Hot Chili Peppers a year ago but only made it known officially in December 2009.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been working on their next album since October, 2009 and it will be released in late 2010.

There first show with Josh will be on January 29, 2010 when they pay tribute to Neil Young at MusiCares.

The hotel heiress has revealed she can see herself tying the knot to boyfriend Doug Reinhardt over the next twelve months because their 'amazing' relationship has curbed her partying ways.

The 'Hills’ star Doug can’t wait to get the blonde socialite down the aisle and thinks she would make a 'perfect' wife.

Joe McElderry hits the top spot

Joe McElderry hits the top spot

Joe McElderry is a happy boy today. He has finally beaten Rage Against The Machine on the UK chart.

Just a few weeks back when a Facebook campaign got underway to rage against Simon Cowell’s Christmas chart monopoly, X-Factor winner Joe McElderry said he had not even heard the Rage Against The Machine song 'Killing In The Name’.

When he finally did get to hear the 1992 Rage Against The Machine classic he described it as 'awful'.

Last week, the Facebook campaign worked and McElderry came in at number two. This week, he moved ahead of Rage to go to number one and take off the final chart topper of the year in the UK.

McElderry’s cover of the Miley Cyrus hit 'The Climb’ sold 196,000 copies in the UK in the past week. The Rage Against The Machine song moved to second spot.

Incidentally, when 'Killing In The Name’ first graced the UK chart in 1993, it peaked at number 23.
