Wyclef Jean urges Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to adopt a child from Haiti

Wyclef Jean urges Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to adopt a child from Haiti

Wyclef Jean has urged Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to adopt a child from Haiti.

The singer has appealed to his friends – who have three adopted children and three biological kids – to take on the care of an impoverished youngster from his earthquake-stricken home nation.

He said: 'Brad and Angie, please! Please adopt a child from Haiti!

"I have so many celebrity friends who have really supported this cause and who continue to support this cause. Our job is to help those little kids, to give them a chance. If we give them a chance they'll have a better tomorrow."

However, Angelina has already admitted that while she and Brad are keen to adopt children from all over the world – their non-biological kids are from Vietnam, Cambodia and Ethiopia – adopting a Haitian child is not something they are currently considering.

She previously said: 'I'm always open to children around the world. We're that kind of family. Brad and I talk about that. But that's not what we're focusing on at this time, by any means.'

In February, the couple travelled to the country – which was hit by a devastating earthquake the previous month – and donated $1 million through their Jolie-Pitt Foundation to Doctors Without Borders.

Los Campesinos! and I Blame Coco to play Topshop Bandstand

Los Campesinos! and I Blame Coco to play Topshop Bandstand

This year, throughout the month of June, Topshop will be hosting Topshop Bandstand Picnics for Teenage Cancer Trust, a series of very special events around the UK, a string of gloriously unique outdoor picnic events in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust featuring the cream of the new musical crop performing in the loveliest green spaces in London, Bristol, Liverpool and Birmingham. Jameela Jamil shall be presenting the London and Bristol dates with Miquita Oliver hosting the Liverpool and Birmingham dates.

So, kicking off on June 12 in the lush environs of Regents Park, we’ll find a mix of white hot musicians and DJ’s playing live to raise money and awareness for Teenage Cancer Trust amongst the nation’s youth, all of whom have very generously donated their time for the shows. Musicians such as electro trio of the moment Chew Lips, Welsh indie popsters Los Campesinos!, hotly tipped dream Summer Camp, rapidly ascendant pop-rockers I Blame Coco, critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Blue Roses, the swoon inducing Slow Club, and the gorgeously folky haze of Goldheart Assembly, along with the likes of Egyptian Hip Hop, Girlcore, Goldielocks, New Young Pony Club, Cocknbullkid and Blonde Ambition among others numbering the DJ ranks.

The music, however, is only part of the equation, with the surrounding locale transformed into a classic, pincnic style playground, complete with Native Faces providing festival face decoration with Topshop Make Up, Sk8 House roller skate hire, and sports day games such as wang a welly, egg and spoon, and sack races with special prizes up for grabs. Attendees will pack up a picnic and bring along their Neon Rose picnic blanket that is available instore when you spend £60 or more. As well as this there will be the opportunity to chill out in the sun-shade area, complete with sun-cream samples. There will also be Vitamin Water and LOLA’s cupcakes on sale with all profits donated to the charity, as well as one-off Topshop/ Teenage Cancer Trust rain ponchos, which will be on sale with all the proceeds going back to the charity, all of which will combine to make these events completely unmissable in their own right.

Further to this, the Bandstand Picnic events will be branching out into selected stores from the 9th - 13th June and 16th – 20th June. London Oxford Circus, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol, Cardiff, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Sheffield, Manchester Arndale and Glasgow will be playing host to live DJ sets, daily raffles, instore competitions as well as a limited edition giveaway of a specially designed picnic blanket.

Also supporting both the picnics and instore activity for Teenage Cancer Trust will be a bespoke collection produced exclusively for the charity, instore from 17th May. Pieces will include a kaftan, headband, summer bag and friendship bracelets all reflecting the summer trends with exclusive bright, fun prints, with a percentage of sales going to Teenage Cancer Trust.

Ronnie Wood has been sober for 60 days

Ronnie Wood has been sober for 60 days

The Rolling Stones rocker – who went through a public break-up with 21-year-old Russian model Ekaterina Ivanova last year – hasn’t touched alcohol or drugs for the past two months and is so keen to stay off them he has been attending daily support groups.

He told the Daily Mail newspaper: 'I've done 60 days of clean and serene and I can't see any way of stopping. I'm doing 90 meetings in 90 days. I do a meeting every day.

'It's a hell of a thing. I go from Surrey all over London - I just go to Narcotics Anonymous or Alcoholics Anonymous and just keep it going.'

Wood credits members from his other band The Faces with helping him to stay sober and overcome his three-decade addiction to drink and drugs.

Speaking of his bandmates he said: 'Glen is on the AA and NA programme as well and is a really good support. And Kenney's been great, and Mac and Mick.'

Friends of the 62-year-old star also believe his relationship with new girlfriend Ana Araujo has been a calming influence and have even predicted the pair will marry 'as early as this summer'.

A source said recently: 'Ronnie thinks Ana could be the woman to make a life with. She's such a positive influence on him and they've very relaxed in each other's company. They're happy enjoying the simple things in life like staying in, making meals and watching films."

Slash dissapointed with current rock scene

Slash dissapointed with current rock scene

Slash thinks there is 'nothing positive' about the current rock scene.

The legendary guitarist admits he is unhappy about the lack of 'spirit' in the current guitar-based music scene and doesn’t know where the next big thing will come from.

He said: 'I usually hate talking about the state of rock music, because there’s nothing positive to say about it. The whole vibe of new, exciting hard rock bands seems non-existent right now.

'I always say that the heavy metal spirit is alive and well and holding its own, but the broader rock ’n’ roll thing of bands like AC/DC or Guns N’ Roses seems pretty slim. The rock ’n’ roll spirit is extremely diminished.

'There’s no shortage of bands out there trying to make it, but they’re hard pressed to get a foot in the door. There’s no movement on the streets.'

Slash admits he can understand why pop artists now outsell rock musicians and insists he appreciates the 'truly gifted', regardless of the genre they perform.

He added: 'As a musician who has played with a lot of pop artists over the years, I can appreciate anyone who is truly gifted in one genre. Like in any genre, there’s a couple of people in the pop world that are brilliant and then there’s a lot of fluff and c**p. You can’t hold it against pop music for being popular.'

Jennifer Lopez and Mary J. Blige partied at Naomi Campbells 40th

Naomi Campbell celebrated her 40th birthday by partying with Jennifer Lopez and Mary J. Blige.

The model and the two stars danced to a 45-minute set by the Black Eyed Peas at the bash held at the Hotel Du Cap in Cannes and organised by Naomi’s billionaire boyfriend Vladislav Doronin.

A source said: 'Naomi was loving every minute of it, she had so much energy and was dancing all night. It felt more like a party for someone in their 20s.'

Other guests included Grace Jones and model Eva Herzigova – who arrived by boat.

During the celebrations Vladislav – who earlier had 40 white roses delivered to his lover - paid tribute to Naomi, describing her as a 'wild, wild woman' and his 'great love'.

A number of video birthday messages were also played to the catwalk beauty, including well-wishes from rapper P. Diddy and model Tyson

Beckford.

All the guests were treated to a special birthday dinner, which was accompanied by two specially created cocktails – the 'Campbelltini’ and the 'Naomito’ – while desert was a three-tier chocolate cake.

Celine Dion is 'waiting for good news' on second pregnancy

Celine Dion is waiting for good news on second pregnancy

Celine Dion is 'waiting for good news' about a second pregnancy.

The 42-year-old singer – who has a nine-year-old son Rene-Charles with husband Rene Angelil – confesses she doesn’t like to talk about having more children but would love to add to her family in the future.

She said: 'Well we’re crossing our fingers. We’re waiting for good news hopefully. I don’t want to talk about it so much because I’m superstitious, but I know people have been very wonderful for us and praying for us. Right now we are crossing our fingers, we hope for the best and I can’t wait to give people good news.'

The French-Canadian star also admits she will not release any information until she is sure she is pregnant as she doesn’t want to confuse fans.

She told Wendy Williams on her TV show: 'Once you live in showbusiness and everything spreads out so quick and every pregnancy you have to wait three months to make sure it’s all ok and it’s nerve racking. We’re not getting any younger and you always think it’s your last chance, you’re last try.

'I don’t want to jinx myself and say, 'We think we are’ and then someone hears the wrong thing and it’s, 'She’s not and she is and she’s not and she is’. It’s terrible. It’s exactly what we don’t want – the fans, the people to hear that. We continue to wait and we hope for the best.'

Earlier this year, Celine claimed she would undergo in vitro fertilisation (IVF) for the fifth time to get pregnant.

She said: 'I'm going to try until it works. Five's my lucky number, so this is the time it's got to work."
