Bret Michaels still in intensive care

Poison singer Bret Michael is still in intensive care following a brain hemorrhage last Thursday. His doctors are still testing for the source of the bleeding.

In a statement from Michaels' management today. we hear:

"Everyone at Michaels Entertainment would like to thank all fans and friends for their continued thoughts and prayers through this difficult time".

"At this point Bret remains in ICU in critical condition. He is under 24 hour doctors care and supervision. We are hopeful that further tests will locate the source of the bleeding, which has still not been located. As we all know Bret is a fighter and we are hopeful that once all is complete the slurred speech, blurred vision and dizziness, etc. will be eliminated and all functions will return to normal".

Michaels has been in an unnamed hospital in Los Angeles since the early hours of Friday morning. Just a few weeks ago he was released from hospital after undergoing an emergency appendectomy.

The singer has been a key player in this season of The Celebrity Apprentice and is about to release a new solo album 'Custom Built' featuring the duet 'Nothing to Lose' with Miley Cyrus.

Delays to release 'Star Tiger, Star Ariel'

Delays release their fourth album 'Star Tiger, Star Ariel' on 21stJune 2010, through Lookout Mountain Records, preceded by the debut single 'Unsung' on 14th June.

Determined to strip their sound back, the band found inspiration in their hometown of Southampton and it's melancholic history. Written as a soundtrack to late night drives through the New Forest and sunrise at the docks, 'Star Tiger Star Ariel' truly reflects the bands depth, ambition and integrity.

Brothers Greg and Aaron Gilbert, alongside Colin Fox on bass guitar and Rowly on drums, recorded the album at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth (Queen, Stone Roses) with Duncan Lewis who produced their first hit album.

Greg says "The first album sounded like the sun, the second album like a club, 'Everything's The Rush' was a festival, but this album sounds like roots beneath the city shaking the buildings at night. This record is about being lost, and the dream of being found. It is our most personal record, and, more than anything, is a soundscape for our home."

Lily Allen says she has 'no control over' her pop star persona

Lily Allen claims her pop star persona is a character she has "no control over".

The 'Not Fair' singer told how people instantly think they know her because they relate to her autobiographical songs, but she is very different from the character she sings about.

She said: "I've had enough of being me. I've had enough of being Lily Allen, I want to be me now.

"Whatever situation I'm in, whether it's going to the supermarket, the pub or a club, or in the back of a cab, people think they know me. And the reality is they don't. Lily Allen is a character I have no control over. I've got nothing to do with it except my face is the one that goes with it."

The 24-year-old pop star also said winning a BRIT award - one of the highest accolades in music in the UK - for British Female Solo Artist this February meant "absolutely nothing" to her.

She added: "I got a BRIT Award recently. And that was something four years ago that I would have died for.

"But when I finally got that award it meant absolutely nothing to me. Because I now know that The BRIT Awards is a TV show. Record company executives make deals with a TVC channel and the producers about who wins what award in exchange for performance time.

"So it's just become a non-award, like 'thank you for this'."

Following the success of her second album, 'It's Not Me, It's You' Lily is taking a break from music to pursue other business ventures which reportedly include starting a record label and a clothes hire shop.

Bullet For My Valentine premiere album live

Bullet For My Valentine premiered a host of tracks from their new album 'Fever' on Monday night at Islington Academy.

The myspace event saw the Welsh metalcore band take to the stage for the first time in nine months to play tracks from their new album released on the same day.

The first track of the night was the title track 'Fever' which sees Bullet pick up from where they last left off. 'Your Betrayal' followed, a slow and explosively rhythmic start with heavy percussion that climaxes in heavy guitar riffs which were welcomed with outstretched arms by an army of hardcore fans.

Matt Tuck and the boys must have been pleased with the fan reaction which was being streamed live across myspace to their growing fanbase.

The 'Rehab' singer – who recently reconciled with Blake after they divorced in August last year – has reportedly decided to mark their reunion with a romantic trip to Havana for when his court ordered curfew is over, to celebrate their new-found passion for cigar smoking.

A friend told The Sun newspaper: "Smoking cigars is their new thing. It all started when Amy bought a pack of Romeo y Julieta for Blake, because she thinks they're also tragic lovers. Amy and Blake have been spending their time reading up on the history and the culture behind them and followed it to Cuba. She thinks there's a kind of romance to it and would love to go there with Blake."

Blake was released from jail last February after serving time for assault and trial-fixing but had been ordered to remain in Sheffield , North England, to complete drug rehab treatment.

The friend continued: "She wants to go away to celebrate them being back together properly. It will be their 'second honeymoon’. As soon as his curfew allows, they'll be off."

The 26-year-old star – who recently bought a new London home to live in with Blake when his curfew comes to an end – has also commissioned artist and Soho club owner Sam Shaker to paint a picture of them together to mark their reunion.

Sam, who has previously done paintings for the singer’s family, said: "She said she loved the paintings and gave me more pictures, including one of her with Blake. When they came to see them she took Blake by the hand and showed him the paintings. He said they were beautiful."

Hip Hop legend Guru dies

Rapping legend Guru died yesterday (April 19th) after a long battle fighting cancer.

Influential rapper Guru (real name Keith Elam and best known as front man for Gang Starr) passed away aged 43 after suffering cardiac arrest on March 2 and was in a coma for some time.

The New York born MC had been suffering from the cancer for over a year.

A statement read: 'Guru has passed away yesterday morning (April 19) after a long battle with cancer.

"The world has lost one of the best MCs and Hip-Hop icons of all-time -- my loyal best friend, partner, and brother, Guru," Solar said in a statement. "Guru has been battling cancer for well over a year and has lost his battle! This is a matter that Guru wanted private until he could beat it, but tragically, this did not happen. The cancer took him. Now the world has lost a great man and a true genius."

Guru, a Boston native, rose to fame in the 80's as one half of Gangstarr, the iconic rap group with DJ Premier before splitting under acrimonious circumstances.

Since then Guru had released a series of 'Jazzmattaz’ albums where he teamed up with classic jazz, soul and hip hop artists.

He also continued to tour the world with a band and producer Solar.

Suede to play O2 arena

Suede are confirmed to play London’s O2 Arena on December 7.

Stephen Dale Petit album release date announced

The rap mogul – who stars alongside Russell Brand in forthcoming movie 'Get Him to the Greek’ – was amazed to be asked to feature in an episode of 'Inside the Actors Studio’ because he didn’t think his thespian talents were strong enough to be praised.

He said: "They have been calling me for the last three years to do it, and I was kind of nervous and said, 'I'm not at that level.’

"I'm looking at Meryl Streep up there, and Martin Scorsese, Al Pacino and Denzel Washington and Chris Rock. They were saying they wanted to take it from a different perspective of somebody on the rise. I appreciated that. After doing Broadway and now with 'Get Him to the Greek' coming out... the time is right.

"I still have fears though, I still have insecurities.'

However, Diddy – who made his film debut in 'Monster’s Ball’ in 2001 and appeared on the New York stage in a production of 'A Raisin in the Sun’ in 2004 – thinks things can only get better for him after showing his comedic talents as a record label boss in 'Get Him to the Greek’.

The Fratellis have confirmed they’ve split up after singer John Lawler posted a note on the band’s website.

"We have no plans to work together right now", he said.
He posted his comment on at exactly the same time as bandmate Barry spoke of his past successes with the trio.

Lawler continued "Sometimes things just work out that way. Mince, Baz and I are working on music but not with each other.

"Your passion is appreciated more than we will ever be able to say. We'll forever give our hearts and souls to music and to you guys who want to hear what we do."

Lawler is currently busying himself with Codeine Velvet Club while drummer Mince is playing with metal band Throne o’Diablo.

Drummer Mince has so far remained silent about the split "but is making noise with heavy metal band Throne o' Diablo.

Susan Boyle in a panic after intruder incident

Susan Boyle was scared out of her "living daylights" by an intruder in her home.

The Scottish singing sensation – who returned to her property in Blackburn, West Lothian, in January to find a teenager running past her out of the door – was severely shaken by the break-in but is still confident enough to live on her own.

She said: "When I was coming home with my friends I opened the front door and the guy just came down the stairs and brushed past me.

"That scared the living daylights out of me and I don’t know how the hell he got in yet. But there was no question about it, my security was OK. It was just that particular night, it was a bad night."

Despite the incident, the 49–year-old star – who recently added a five-bedroom, £300,000 house to her property portfolio, as well keeping her family home – has complete confidence in her security.

She said: "Things have been put in place by my management team and they have been really good. They do protect me. They do look after me.

"I’m getting all the care I need, all the protection I need and I am very happy with them. And the boy that broke into my house has since been caught by the police."

The singer-and-TV star’s long-term love Gavin Henson proposed to her on February 21, her 24th birthday, after planning a special ride in a helicopter and luxury lunch in their native Wales.

Liverpool house night Circus will host one of the parties of the year as BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong and a host of superstar guests celebrate the station's 500th essential mix at the city's Masque venue.

She added to America’s OK! magazine: 'Michael has no relationship with his children. He has no visitation. My daughter Ali has a block on her phone, my little one doesn’t talk to him, my older son Michael is in college and doesn’t talk to him and Lindsay has no relationship with him. He has hurt them deeply by what he’s done publicly and it breaks my heart.

'I can’t make him be a better father, but I want him to stop hurting Lindsay publicly. He needs to focus on his three other children and take care of them. It’s time for him to be quiet for while.'

This week Michael announced he had got engaged to girlfriend Kate Major and Dina also attacked his plans for a lavish wedding, insisting he should use his money for their children.

She said: 'Where he’s finding money for engagement rings and weddings I don’t know. He’s nine months behind in his child support. I wish him the best, but pay for the kids you already have.'

The 'Fight for This Love' singer – who dumped the soccer player after allegations he cheated on her with several other women surfaced this year – has reportedly received two personalised leather studded collars from him for their pet Chihuahuas Buster and Coco, which bizarrely have his initials on.

A source said: "Both Cheryl and Ashley love their Chihuahuas so the leather collars were a bit of a light-hearted, jokey present. He had them engraved with the letter 'A' again as a bit of a joke. But he is hoping Buster and Coco will wear them with pride."

Cheryl currently has the pooches and looks after them on a full-time basis, with Ashley allowed to see them on weekends.

"Ashley is willing to do anything to win back Cheryl. He’s had a long, hard think and is a changed man. He had the brooch made and wanted it to represent how he would never stray again if she gave him one more chance."

The disgruntled ex-Oasis frontman believes he would react violently if he saw his sibling – who was the main songwriter and guitarist in the group – and would probably 'leather' him, an English slang term meaning to beat someone up.

Liam told Shortlist magazine: 'I don’t wanna see him. But if I see him, who knows what would happen? I’ll probably end up f***ing leathering him.'

Liam, 37, and Noel, 42, have a long running love/hate relationship and have previously waged wars of words against each and fought in public, with Noel briefly quitting the band in 2000 after they got into a drunken fight in Barcelona after Liam questioned the legitimacy of his brother’s daughter Anais, provoking Noel into headbutting him.

The 'Lyla’ singer also insisted Noel – who quit the group last summer after the pair got into a fight just moments before they were due on stage in Paris - isn’t 'rock 'n’ roll' anymore and that Oasis will never reform.

He added: 'Oasis ran its course. We stepped over that fine line. People in the band grew up and went different ways. Noel wanted to chill out a bit. He’s not rock 'n’ roll mate. I am, I’m still going for it until the day I die, without a doubt. You won’t catch Oasis reforming y’know, not ever.'

Since the group’s split Liam has formed a new band featuring all the members of Oasis apart from Noel, who is currently working on his first solo record.

Nas ordered to pay Kelis $10,000 a month in spousal support

Nas has been ordered to pay Kelis $10,000 a month in spousal support.

The rapper was also told he has to pay his estranged spouse $47,249.42 in back child support for their seven-month-old son Knight, and $40,454 in back spousal support during a hearing in Los Angeles County Superior Court yesterday (12.04.10).

In December, Nas had his monthly spousal and child payments to Kelis increased from a combined $40,000 to a total of $51,000 a month, but has failed to keep up with the instalments.

The musician – real name Nasir Jones – had his spousal support payments increased in order to cover some of the $299,015.50 he owes the 'Milkshake’ singer.

He was also ordered to pay her $155,787.28 legal bill and $48,549.83 accounting expenses at yesterday’s hearing.

Kelis filed for divorce last April citing "irreconcilable differences". It is believed she became tired of Nas' verbal abuse and alleged infidelity.

Since their split, the pair have regularly been in dispute over finances, with Kelis claiming Nas had not given her enough money to live on during her pregnancy.

Nas insisted he had paid her $30,000 in expenses.

Kelis and Nas originally met at an after-party hosted by P. Diddy for the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards.

They got engaged a year later and married in Atlanta in 2005.

Boy George won't say sorry

Boy George does not feel he has to apologise for his past actions.

The 48-year-old singer - who spent four months in prison last year for the false imprisonment of a male escort - claims the media often want him to say sorry for his past, but he feel he has already paid his penance.

He said: "I think that is terribly sanctimonious. I've already been to trial. I've paid my price.
"Why should I have to explain myself to anybody, let alone seek their forgiveness?"

The former Culture Club frontman also claims he has received great reactions from the public since his release from prison in May 2009.

He said: "Ever since I've come out, I've had nothing but affection, everyone from the doorman at The Dorchester Hotel to taxi drivers.

"None of them have expected me to apologise. They just all seem really glad that I'm out, and that I'm back.

"It's made me realise that people do care for me. And before you ask, yes, I am grateful for that. I am."

The eccentric star also says he has now "grown-up", despite not liking the term.

He told The New Review: "I've grown up. I always used to hate it when people said things like that; it made me wretch. But I've realised that just because you've grown up, it doesn't mean you necessarily have to become boring. I certainly haven't.

"All that has happened is that my desire for drama is greatly diminished. And it's a relief to be able to say that."

Miley Cyrus is reportedly planning her wedding to boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.

The 17-year-old singer-and-actress - who has been dating the handsome actor for 10 months after meeting on the set of their movie 'The Last Song' - is said to be keen to tie the knot with her beau once she turns 18 in November.

A source told America's OK! magazine: "She's convinced she'll spend the rest of her life with him. She's talking about a wedding as soon as she turns 18. She's even asked her mom if she can wear her wedding dress."

Miley is clearly smitten with Liam, 20, and the couple have become extremely close.

She said: "He is awesome. We hang out almost every day. He's almost become like my best friend."

Miley recently said she thinks their relationship works because they are complete opposites.

Shakira was driven to success because she never wanted to be poor again.

The 33-year-old singer - whose father William Mebarak Chadid was declared bankrupt when she was growing up ' claims seeing the plight of those worse off than her family made her even more determined to do well in her life so she could help others.

She said: "My dad went bankrupt when I was eight years old. I remember the day I realised that pretty much all of the comfort of our lives was gone. We had had very decent lives ' two cars, my dad had a successful business, and then from one day to the next we lost everything.

"He took me to the park to show me a reality much worse than ours. There were all these barefoot orphaned kids who were sniffing glue. I guess the image stuck in my head. I promised myself, 'One day I'm going to succeed because there's no way I'm not having a car again.'

"And I thought, 'If I ever do it, I'm going to do something about these kids.' "
The 'She Wolf' hitmaker kept to her promise, and set up a charity when she had her first taste of fame at 18.

She explained to The Big Issue magazine: "When I had my first big success with 'Pies Descalzos', the album that made it big in Latin America when I was 18, I decided to establish my first foundation in Columbia.

"Ever since, I've been investing all my efforts in education, which have achieved amazing results for kids who live in poverty and conflict or kids who might have been recruited into the guerrillas or drugs cartels.

"Instead, they're on their way to college. How can I not believe in this so passionately?"

Banjo-rock four-piece Sebastian Dangerfield are set to play the first Music-News.com Underground night in Edinburgh. The Magic Numbers new album and tour dates

The Magic Numbers have announced details of the release of a new album and UK tour in June.

The album, titled The Runaway, will be released through Heavenly Recordings on Monday June 7th 2010.

The 12-track album was produced by Romeo Stodart and Valgeir Sigurdsson (Bjork, Bonnie Prince Billy, Múm) and mixed by Ben Hillier (Doves, Elbow, Blur). It is their third album following The Magic Numbers (June 2005) & Those The Brokes (November 2007).

It also features string arrangements by Robert Kirby, renowned for his work with the likes of Nick Drake, Sandy Denny and Elvis Costello. The album was the last Robert worked on before he sadly passed away in October 2009.

Will Smith is reportedly causing huge disruptions to his wife’s TV show.

The 'Men In Black’ actor has been spending a lot of time on the set of medical drama 'HawthoRNe’ – in which his spouse Jada Pinkett Smith plays a nurse – because his lack of filming commitments have given him more time to devote to his role as producer on the show.

But he has allegedly been infuriating cast and crew by submitting 'pages of notes and rewrite requests' every week.

A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "He is not currently shooting a movie, so he's been a constant on the set in recent weeks.

"He's been inserting his input and requesting so many changes to the script that it pushed back the production schedule tremendously and caused everything to spiral out of control.

"Everyone is praying for him to book a new movie so that he will go away."

Will is currently making a decision on whether his next movie will be 'Men in Black 3’ or 'City that Sailed’ but has no definite filming commitments lined up.

Jada recently revealed her husband wants to be the US President.

She said: "Will is thinking about going into politics. He once said he could imagine becoming US president. He wasn't joking, he was quite serious about it."

Michael Eavis has confirmed that Kinks mainman Ray Davies will play the Sunday afternoon slot at this year's Glastonbury festival.

The farmer told eFestivals: "Ray Davies with his friends and with a choir and all those Kinks songs are going to be absolutely unbelievable. Ray has got the five o'clock slot, the legend's slot. His songs are so unique, it's going to be great."

Eavis also revealed that singer-songwriter Jackson Browne - best know for co-writing The Eagles' 'Take It Easy' - would be playing on the same day.

So the lyrics to the new Slash song `Crucify The Dead` go like this.

Amazingly, Slash says the song is not about Axl Rose. He claims Ozzy Osbourne, who sings the song on the Slash album wrote it about his own experiences.

Slash answered the question during an appearance at Canadian Music Week last week. He said 'the song represents the situation he’s had in his relationships with other musicians. Yes, there were some key lines in there that were very suggestive of my experience. But he said, 'No, this is just an overall picture of the issues.’ '

The Slash album features an all-star cast of guest vocalists including Andrew Stockdale from Wolfmother, Fergie, Lemmy from Motorhead and Chris Cornell.

U2360° At The Rose Bowl will be released on DVD and Blu-ray by Interscope Records on June 3, coinciding with the band’s first U.S. show in 2010. U2360° At The Rose Bowl was the penultimate gig of last year’s U2360° tour in support of their Grammy-nominated album No Line on The Horizon. The Rose Bowl performance was the band’s biggest show of 2009 and U2’s biggest ever US show, with a live audience in excess of 97,000.

The show was also streamed across seven continents via YouTube. The first ever live streaming of a full-length stadium concert, U2360° at the Rose Bowl had over 10 million views on the channel in one week.

Available in standard and two disc deluxe DVD formats, U2360° At The Rose Bowl will also be U2’s first concert available in Blu–ray. Kylie the new face of breast cancer charity campaign

Kylie Minogue is the new face of a breast cancer charity campaign.

The 41-year-old pop star – who was diagnosed with the disease during her 'Showgirl’ world tour in May 2005 – poses in just a silk sheet for the pictures taken by acclaimed photographer Mario Testino, for the launch of the new Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC) campaign for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

The campaign will see a range of specially created clothing sold in high street stories, including Marks and Spencer and Topshop, online and in designer collections over the next six weeks.

Speaking of her work for the charity, Kylie said: "It means so much to be part of this year's campaign for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. I wholeheartedly support their efforts to raise funds for the vital work undertaken by Breakthrough Breast Cancer.'

The Australian singer needed a partial mastectomy to remove a malignant tumour five years ago and then received eight months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy before finally being given the all clear from cancer in 2006.

She has previously spoken about how the potentially fatal illness changed her life forever.

She said: "I learned that you never go back to a normal state, instead you have to create a new normal state. I have to accept my life for its triumphs and its other sides, take the good with the bad.

"I experienced a world of illness and positive attitudes. These experiences contributed to making me a more mature person."

Other stars to give their backing to the campaign include actress Sienna Miller and supermodel Claudia Schiffer.

The Welsh singer – who has two children, two-year-old Ruby and Dexter, 14 months, with her rugby player partner Gavin Henson – believes her 'mood swings' have brought the couple closer as it has boosted their knowledge of one another.

She said: "We will get married – but we're really in no rush. We're very happy together. We're been together for five years now and Gavin puts up with all my mood swings. I was hideous to him when I was pregnant! But I'd like to think that we know each other pretty well."
